Working in the "Introducing the MicroStation CONNECT Edition" workbook, one of the initial steps says to set the Active Workspace to "Example" then 5 WorkSets should be available to choose from - "Building", "Civil", "General", Geospatial", and "Plant". However, the only WorkSet option I'm getting is "MetroStation".

Another instance is when working in the "Creating Workspaces" workbook. The first step says to open CONNECT and choose "BentleyCONNECTTraining" from the Workspace drop down, but I don't see that option. Is there a way to browse to certain workspaces that are contained in the practice datasets, or is there an initial set-up step that I've missed where this Workspace would have been created?

I'm sure there's a simple and obvious solution, or just something that I've missed, but I'm just not finding any of these options that any of the practice workbooks are telling me to choose.

Thanks in advance for any help,

First of all, we need to download the NM dataset from the installer. This content ends in the route ~ Configuration \ WorkSpaces \ AECOsimExamples \ worksets and following the logical path, I realized that this new workset contains the Neutral Metric standard that I need to use here in South America.
then, if I need to create a new project folder (workspace), it is EMPTY !, there is not a single option to use the template folder mentioned before as a basis for my new project.

then, creating the workset, all empty again. you have to manually copy the template folder to your new location, create a empty workset, rename the workset, and start a new dgn wherever the path guides you.

I think that bentley needs to redesign this entire process, and find a new way to:

download datasets or templates worspaces from a different location, not linked to the installer. It has not sense!

Reuse the template dataset folder as the thing is, to TEMPLATE. there have to be an option inside AECOSIM, that allows us to select what structure to use and that the application will copy automaticly.

Allows users to CHANGE LOCATIONS from the workspace folders, after that the project starts.

You really have to make the software more user friendly.

After trying to process this project in my pc, I realized that i will take too much time. (I do not have a high end computer).

Also, I have access to the ContextCapture console that allow us to process this pictures a way more faster, but I realized that all the control points are missing from the original photo positions or the original block, because there is no way to upload this information to the console.

"FunctionalComponents – Easily create libraries of parametric structural shapesfor both reinforced concrete and structural steel by applying user-defined variables and equations. Drag and drop existing components from a library that allowsediting to specification to reduce time and eliminate errors associated with manual input.

ComponentCenter –Easily access structural components for use in design. Integrate with theComponentCenter as a source of content for rebar couplers, terminators, and form savers."

How to create a terrain by GIS contour and add survey points using OpenRoads Designer

Hi all,
