I created all of the custom sections on my machine and when I went to send them to my coworker, I couldn't find them.

I believed the custom sections would be saved in the file location: C:\Program Files\Bentley\Engineering\RAM Elements\Database\Sections

Is this the wrong file location?

We are both working on RAM Elements V16.2.0

Is it possible to create a custom composite pipe section?

I am trying to model a large pump tower that is supported by a composite pipe section as shown in the attached image.

Can I model this in RAM Elements CONNECT Edition?

I have modeled a simple steel truss to check my hand calculations. When viewing the global status of the model, the diagonal members are shown to have "Errors in Design."

The members all have ratios from 1.84 to 3.6.

However, my hand calculations indicate that the members have much higher capacity than the demand.

My question: How can I find out what AISC design equation is used by RAM Elements so that I can look into the issue further?

I am using RAM Elements Connect Edition Standalone 16.2.0 on Windows 10

Ask A Question I

Ask a question in a forum.
