For a while, I believe it was fixed. But recently, I noticed it has returned.

Sometimes, when opened, the Point List Dialog Box opens taller than will fit on the screen. If one attempts to resize it by grabbing one of its edges, the dialog box will vanish and then, all future attempts at any type of input, mouse operation, etc. results in an error beep. One might think the only solution now is the Task Manager. However, the truth is, that the dialog box is still open but just not visible. The simple solution is to press the Exc key as this presses the Close Button on the dialog box. Now, if one reopens the dialog box, it appears normal sized and can be resized via the mouse.

InRoads V8i Overlay and Stripping Components; Overlay Tools

Is there any training or documentation for the new Overlay tools and components in InRoads V8i? Thanks in advance!

Report Browser Config File

InRoads SS2

Is there a way to point to a default generic stylesheet in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\InRoads Group V8.11\bin\ReportBrowser.exe.config file? This file sets the pointers to Style Sheet Help reports in the Bentley Civil Report Browser. If there isn’t a default report set, or when you open the Tools > View XML Reports command, the report browser goes to the top folder on the list and displays irrelevant raw XML. To shield my users from this confusing display, I’d like to point them to a specific stylesheet.

Would I do this in the ReportBrowser.exe.config file or is there another method? I tried pre-pending the name of the file or folder with zeroes so that it would open at the top of the report display, but this doesn’t work because the stylesheet isn’t tied to anything. Ideas? I need to export a set of alignments, change their style and description attributes, then import them back into InRoads. I’ve tried using SDK options. I tried using the report browser to export horizontal alignments to ASCII then use the Alignment To ASCII macro, but that doesn’t import the header info (like name, style, etc.).

LandXML works, but it would be handier if I could update the small amount of fields that I need in a user-friendly interface like Excel (instead of searching and replacing data in Notepad++). Unfortunately I haven’t been able to successfully map the LandXML schema in Excel.

Are there any other InRoads reports or tricks for importing alignments, including the header data? TIA for your ideas!

But when we generate volumes, we get erroneous fill volumes that tie from existing ground up the face of the GR. I’ve flagged the GR component to be ignored in the cross sections End Area Classifications tab, and while InRoads is ignoring that component, it’s drawing a weird fill shape.
