I need some help figuring out what is going wrong on printing.

I'm using OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition, ver 10.08.01.33

I need to print everything in monochrome (contour lines in grayscale) except for the background aerial photos. I did what I used to do: creating a pen color table and makeing all pen to be printed as black but the contour lines printed with grayscale. This time, for some reasons some of the elements, including part of the alignment, which is 3D model, and some annotation cells in the Sheet views, can't be printed as monochrome.

I even edited printer driver configuration on the color maps part. Still, those elements are persistent to be in color.

In the part of screenshot below, all colors are set to be printed as black in the pen color table and printer driver configuration. The station number is the in the model and the red bore hole annotation is in the sheet view.

Please help me to figure out what I missed.

Thanks

I'm using Openroads Designer Connect Edition 2020 Release 2 Update 8 version 10.08.01. I have a problem of the sizes of the groups sheets.

I tried to create group sheets of plan and profile by using the seed: Plan-Profile 50H_5V.

I was not given an option to choose the size of the sheet. I hope it is ANSI D, but it turned out to be ANSI A, as the screenshot below shows:

The small square at the left-bottom corner is actually the ANSI D. I checked the ref properties, the title block is actually ANSI D, but the size and the text in the titleblock state it's ANSI A.

I got very confused. How can I fix this problem?

Thank you all.

Best regards

I'm using Microstation V8i SelectSeries 10 version 08.11.09.919.

I attached a jpg file in a series of dgn file, adjusted the scale and position, saved, and printed each of them yesterday. Everything looked fine. However, today when I opened these file and tried to do more editing, the jpg file I attached in each dgn file is moved far far away from it was yesterday.

What might be the reason? What should I do to fix it where it is supposed to be?

In Microstation V8i SelectSeries, how to change point symbols of multiple points?
I exported boring locations out of an ArcGIS shape file. As of now, they are just simple tiny dots in Mircostation. According to the CAD standard, I'm supposed to change the symbols to the symbol showing below.

I did some research online and found some articles talking about "line style point symbols", which makes me confused. Are the point symbols controlled by line styles? I can't find point styles editor, and some online articles say that "point styles" is a AutoCAD term and there is no "point style" in Microstation.

I'm learning/using Microstation V8i (SELECTSeries 10).
I found a big hurdle that in many cases the Properties list the information does not match what I see in the screen. As a result, I don't know what or where to look for.

For example, in the screenshot below, the selected purple line is supposed to have a specific line style as Silt Fence, as the Properties shows. However, it shows as continuous on the screen. I imported the line style from an RSC file and checked the line style scale, nothing seems wrong. If I open the exactly same file on another computer in our network, the line style looks alright.

In another file, I have sheet view referencing a model, which contains some texts. The texts are of Arial Fonts and they look alright in the Model view, but in the Sheet view, all these texts are without fill, just the frames/outlines of the texts. I checked the Properties of the text, they look nothing wrong and I checked the attributes of the Sheet view, the Fill option is ON.

I can list many cases like this, that is, the line style/fonts/symbols/colors listed in the Properties do not match what they are on the screen.
Where or what should I look for in such situation?

Thanks

Best regards
Daniel

Why does a shape show no fill but the properties states differently

Hello all,
I have a shape filled with solid color 235. I checked the settings in the Attach tools and the Display Overrides is set to never, so I assume it should display the same symbology as it is originally in the model view.

Why is it blank?

I have hard time with the word processor of my Microstation Connect Edition V8i. Whatever changed in the word processor can't be saved. I did some research and some articles say that I can change the preference to dialog box. I did. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. To my observation, when the text contains characters more than some amount, which I don't know, it will open word processor regardless I set it to dialog box or word processor.

The problem is, in some situation, I do need the word processor to achieve some complicated format editing. I tried reinstall the DHTML editior but it doesn't make any differences.

Can anybody help me on this issue?
