hello benjamin I think that technical reason why the statics check doesn't work for load combination cases is the following : As mentioned in some places in the STAAD manuals, for load combination syntax, the program is simply factoring and combining…

I would recommend that you look into ISM (Integrated Structural Model) for transferring your STAAD.Pro model to AECOsim Building Designer. Here is a link to the ISM information. Integrated Structural Modeling Home

  • RE: How can i make the AISC ASD codes available for connection design in STAAD.Pro ?

    Modestas
    Modestas
AISC ASD code is available in the RAM Connection module. You will need a separate license for a full version of this module. Without that license, this module will have only few connection types available.

Steel sections are defined in the xml files in the Dataset\data\ folder. There is an Excel sheet in that folder that shows you the different types (= shapes) you can define, and which parameters are used.

If you search for "Creating and editing section profile data" in the Help file it outlines the XML format and requirements for the delivered section files. As long as you're just adding new section sizes to existing section shapes, it's a matter of copying…

    Dan Weston
The quickest way to solve the problem is to locate the msgeo.ucf file on your hard drive and copy it to the \users folder listed in the second path of the message. The proper way to correct the error is to configure the Base Source Directory below…

Any section modeled and then imported from section wizard cannot be designed if the section is imported as prismatic section. This is because the section wizard is meant for modelling any arbitrary section/buildup section whose b/t ratio is not mentioned…

I am not familiar with SP3D, but if SP3D has a possibility to import ISM repositories, then it should be able to import ISM generated by SFA.

For a taut cable, you need to know the straight line distance between the defining nodes of the cable member and the actual length of the unstressed cable. In case the later is shorter than the former length, the cable is definitely a taut cable. So,…
