I recently rejoined the mapping community after a 4-year absence. Before that I worked in the mapping field for 32 years in many different aspects of photogrammetry. I started as a graphic technician 1 year out of high school when we were still using Maps 300 to do digital mapping and the computer that housed our work took up a whole room. I have seen mapping progress from manual orthos on a vaqccum frame in the photolab to fully digital orthos. I have drilled pug marks and done manual trig on a PG2 as well as using the latest digital software for trig. Seen compilation go from setting diapositives to9 digital stereo collection. In short, I feel like a pioneer who sees a car for the 1st time. lol I absolutely love mapping and I am so happy to be back in the business.
I am married to my soul mate for 29 years and we have 4 kids and 6 grandbabies. I now work from home instead of in a corporate environment and it is GREAT! Thanks for checking out my profile and I hope to learn much as I re acclimate to working.
