I'm trying to get the live load reaction for a 3 span continuous span bridge and noticed the live load reaction values from the report is different from the static analysis diagram.

The support reaction report and lane loading details report show the same LL reaction 92.594 kip, while the shear diagram show a value of 61.4 kip. Is there any specific reason for this discrepancy?

Live load application to straddle bent

I am designing a post-tensioned straddle bent. The superstructure has 6 girder lines. Is it possible to define a design truck using fixed axle spacing so it appears "stationary" to reflect the live load reactions from girders to a post-tensioned straddle bent? For example the bearing locations = axle fixed spacing from the left end are: G1-G2-G3-G4-G5-G6 = 63.5'-7.5'-7.5'-7.5'-7.5'-7.5'.

RC Slab bridge Design (LEAP Bridge Concrete)

I am currently using the LEAP Bridge Concrete software and I require guidance in understanding the user interface and how it relates to conducting the load/analysis and design components.

These are the steps that I have followed:

I have modelled a simple deck slab bridge using Openbridge Modeler and exported it into Leap Bridge Concrete

From there I adjusted the geometry (cross sections in particular) as required by my design

I then moved on to the Load/Analysis Tab

Key problem area

In applying the various loads (Dead, Live, Pedestrian), is it required that data should be input for each load combination limit state (service 1, service 3) as well as each case (Initial and final)?

Additionally, how exactly are these combinations being applied to the structure?

Also, is there a way to see exactly how the loads interact with the structure when applied outside of simply populating the resulting stresses, forces, etc.

In addition, are there any guidance videos that can be used to help with better understanding how the software can be used to design bridges with simple deck slabs?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

LEAP Bridge Concrete files will not open after saving and coming back.

We've run into an issue where files created in the Precast/Prestressed Girder module in LEAP Bridge Concrete sometimes are not able to be opened after we save and come back to our work.
Is this a known issue? Are we perhaps saving wrong?

When i place a parametric cell as a substructure on a model and if i modify for example my girders/beams or decks, what OBM does is it also resets the variables i've placed on my parametric cell. Its not ideal since i'm working on a complex parametric cell with alot of variables and if i change something on the bridge, those variables that i placed are being set to its default value and i have to set them again.

One other issue i noticed is that if i added an 'expression' to my variables and place the cell in OBM and change the variable, it doesn't automatically calculate the expression based on the value i input.

Another thing is i created my custom substructure with different levels for each part, but when i placed them and cut a section all of the linework are set to 'default' level which i think is of not a good workflow to use.

I hope the OBM team will take a serious look at this issue because in reality the default templates within OBM is not enough, in my experience we had to create a custom substructure every time because of the complexity of the bridge design.

Custom barrier using PLACE PATH

Hi,

I'm new on using OpenBridgeModeller. I'm trying to place a custom barrier by using PLACE PATH. I created the custom barrier in the AuxLib.cel. Its showing on the list (see image below), but when I try placing it, its not appearing on the model. Hope anyone can help me with this.

P.S. I'm not using the PLACE BARRIER command because I'm trying to create the barrier layout per specific length. Using the PLACE BARRIER make the barriers all through out the bridge without any joints/gap.
