I am using WaterGEMS 10.01.01.04

An auditor is asking my company for a proof to ensure if the software gives the correct results.

It may be a vague question for us, but as per the requirement for ISO-9001, can Bentley give any declaration or certificate document which we can show to the auditor that WaterGEMS is well calibrated and gives the correct results against the manual calculations may be. .

Would appreciate your guidance on it.

There are some userdefined extensions that I am using in different projects.

Each time I open a different project, and give the different user defined extension, the attribute table still displays the old ones while viewing flex table.

If I go inside the 'EDIT" option, there the names are correct.

I am fairly new to modelling. Therefore, having many question related to the model building as well as understanding proper ways to carry out modelling.

Here is what I have and what I did.

1. Customer meter with billing data, laterals, taps. - All the data is imported into the model and the model is built.

2. Two inlets having a known flow values in 5 meter interval, along with the pressure - These inlets are modelled as Reservoirs. The Pressure values are used to calculate the HGL and then Reservoir HGL Pattern is created and assigned to each of the inlet reservoirs respectively.

3. Pressure Loggers inside the DMAs.

For creating the demand pattern, I used the inlet flow data and created a multiplier for each of the inlet. Have created the hydraulic pattern of the same in WaterGEMS

I assigned one of this multipliers to all the customer demand nodes.

Also note that, I have calculated the Losses by [Water supplied - (Water Billed per month/30 days) ].

Then I calculated the losses per customer meter and added that value to all the meters.

Question:

1. Is the method of calculation of the demand pattern correct? If not, please suggest a correct way to arrive on it.

2. In case of multiple inlets, how do I know which inlet is supplying to which part of the network, and thereby how do I know which hydraulic pattern to be assigned to which customer?

Thanks for bearing me.

I have a basic question w.r.t to modelling.

I am having a DMA with 2 inlets.

How do I model the flows through these inlets?

I am trying using FCV at D/s of Both the reservoirs and giving them the known volume/day value.

Is this a correct practice?

If I try to model without FCVs, then only single inlet will supply the entire flow, which isn't correct.

Please suggest the correct method to model multiple inlets for a DMA.

How should I use this flow data?

Do I have to use the flow data for a single day? i.e. for 24 hrs simulation, and if yes, which day should I select, as the data varies.
