Profile annotation group NOT populating in dgn correctly???

In OpenRoads, I have customized the linear profile annotation group to match our company and INDOT standards. However, when I create a profile in our .dgn, only some of the customization appears, and also some appear that I have deleted from the linear profile annotation group. For instance, I customized a text favorite within an annotation label to show VPI station, elevation, and parabola curve length under the top border of our grid. I removed the VPT/VPC labels along with many other out of the box labels and everything looks fine in the preview window of the editor. When I create a profile in our dgn, the annotation group populates the parabola curve length in it's default setting as well as the VPT/VPC labels, along with an elevation at the bottom border for each VPT/VPC which I removed, along with VPI points. The VPI is then show as more of a default setting, rather than the text favorite I created. Again, everything looks fine in the annotation group preview. I have made these changes in our feature definition file of note. Also, is there anyway to show a line type between the cardinal points circles between the VPI and VPT/VPC points? Very frustrating to see the profiles populate the way they did after feeling confident about the annotation group customizations!

Sheet Indexing Numbering NOT Working Properly in OpenRoads

I have setup text fields in our title block to auto-populate numerous fields upon creation. However, something seems to be off when it comes to the sheet numbering. When I initially create sheets in models files and add them to the index per the dialog box, proper sheet numbering. When I add a sheet through the index itself, proper numbering. However, with each of these methods, when sheets are added to the index the corresponding sheet numbers do NOT update. The weirdest thing is that sometimes the corresponding sheets will update when I open them through the index, sometimes they won't. Sometimes when I go into a corresponding sheet and "update all fields", they update, sometimes they won't. Seems very buggy. A fellow colleague who has been working at our firm much longer than me stated they stopped using the features of the explorer in the past because there were always issues with it. I also personally found this true when working on our Architectural side and using Aecosim.

Drawing and sheet models not retaining default model settings?

Hey Bentley friends,

When I create our plan and profile sheets in our .dgn, if I have turned off levels we do NOT want to show in our default model (levels from survey files, etc.) why when I create our drawing and sheet models do I have to then turn off the levels again in those files? Am i missing a setting somewhere? I've made sure to save setting before creating them...

Plan Annotation Group - PI Back and Ahead Tangent Line

Hello all!

In the Plan Annotation Group, is there a way to set the PI Back and Ahead Tangent lines to stretch from the PI to HC HPI to the PC, PT, etc. Obviously there is a line length setting, but it would be great if you could set the line between these points.

Just curious, we can work with it either way

Existing Strip Grade Annotation in Profile Annotation Group

Ok, so when I'm setting up our profile annotation group, in regards to existing and proposed elevations grade elevations, I cannot get the "Profile Existing Strip Grade Annotation" label to populate anything other than the same elevation as the "Proposed Strip Grade Annotation" label.

Here is a snapshot of our company feature definitions library. There was another annotation group, "Existing Strip Grades" which had a label "Profile Existing Strip Grade Annotation" for the existing grade elevations of the profile. This still resides in the Organization Civil-Imperial Feature Definitions that was delivered with the original product version.

As seen here...

The only label in this group was "Profile Existing Strip Grade", and there were issues with it labeling on top of the proposed labels from the "Profile Strip Grade Annotation" in the "Profile Annotation" group. I simply exported the label from the "Existing Strip Grades" annotation group and imported it into the "Profile Annotation" group, as seen in my first image.

I then deleted the "Existing Strip Grades' annotation group, as it seemed to serve no purpose anymore.

So the biggest issue seems to be this, the text favorite associated to this, upon trying to edit gives me this.

Here you can see at the bottom the associated Text Style and Text Favorite.

All this could be solved if I had any idea what field to set the text to, in order to populate the existing grade.

Cell Placement in Annotation Groups

When trying to place certain cells in an annotation group, there are issues depending on the cells. i have found this with cells containing symbols, combinations of text, linework, and underline functions.

Example, this cell here...

Looks like this when added to the annotation group. As you can see the linework under "Curve Data" doesn't even show, this is the same if the text is simply underlined.

I had this happen when I set up another cell using a centerline symbol as well.

Labeling Cells NOT Working Properly???

Ok guys. I've watched the videos on using the place label tool, creating cells, but something is just not working right or I'm doing something horribly wrong??? I earlier tried to create a cell and use in an annotation group, which consisted of some text-centerline symbol-field type. This didn't work, the centerline symbol was on top of the first line of text whenever I placed it, looked fine in the cell file, but I just moved on.

Now that we are going into our plan labeling, I started the process of customizing/updating labels to meet our standards.

The lower label here is the out of the box NE cell. I included this in the capture to show that when I move the leader across the cell, it doesn't flip, like I believe was stated. Also, if I mirror the label, the justification gets thrown off as well.

Above the NE label on the left is a copy I made of the cell. The only thing I changed was I deleted the boundary around the label, nothing else. I labeled this new cell as _Lbl_Pln_Test and also copied the dimension style for the NE label, also renaming this dimension style _Lbl_Pln_Test, so the auto select would work. As you can see it places the leader in the center of the text, but on the delimit line at least. I saw in the video under "Moving to OpenRoads Designer - Setting up Annotation" on the Learn Server, where it talked about this and said to use the in line leader. Is this in the dimension style under Geometry or Text? What are the settings? Or is this somewhere else I've overlooked?

On the top right is the _Lbl_Pln_Partial_Sta cell that I modified for our text standards, inputting a delimit line you can see under the text. The left side of the line is set to the 0,0 origin, the same as the design of the out of box NE cell. As you can see the leader does not associate to the delimit line. I tried many different operations to fix this, as it seems to associate to the text, but nothing worked.

What I have found though oddly, is when I grab the leaders of either cells I created or modified, and move the leader handle to the correct positions on the delimit line, I can then move the label around and the leader stays associated where it should be.

Also, when using any of the out of box cells with any kind of delimit line, or really any cell, any crossover of the leader arrow or mirroring does NOT flip the cell label or justification.

Please help ASAP!

Date Plotted Field Type Not Working Correctly

Using OpenRoads 10.02.00.60, and when I set up a text field type and choose date plotted from the file properties, nothing populates when printing the sheets? We use the time and date of the plot along with our file path for informational purposes on our sheets.

Cross Section Sheet Definition Drawing - Reference Movement Affects Number of Cross Sections Placed per Sheet

Hello again all lol! Can't get through the day without a couple questions at least.

So anyways, in the Cross Section Sheet Definitions, when I initially set up the file, I moved the drawing reference in the sheet model to a more centered position, the default placement being offset to the left (We have our stationing on both left and right sides of our cross sections, and the left side was being cut off). Also, I had previously setup these files and were able to get the maximum calculated cross sections per sheet. So after I recreated the setup more centered, now when I create new cross section sheets, there is only one cross section placed per sheet. it appears I can setup up the reference in the Sheet Definitions any where along a Y-axis and it will produce however many cross sections will fit, but any change in the X-axis apparently does something to the calculations, thus only allowing one cross section per sheet...

Any thoughts?

Horizontal and vertical scale text field types for sheet border...

I cannot figure out what text field type to use so that we can automatically populate, in our sheets, the horizontal and vertical scale of our profiles. We typically use 1" = 20' for our horizontal and 1" = 5' for our vertical. Would like to add these fields to our title block and auto populate. Thanks!

Cell Placement in Annotation Groups under Manage Annotations in OpenRoads

When attempting to use a cell in an Annotation Group under Manage Annotations, nothing works, not even the 'out of the box' cells that are included in OpenRoads. There are no problems when placing a text favorite, however text favorites cannot cover everything that can be placed in a cell. Has this been brought to anyone's attention?

Openroads PrintStyles.dgnlib

I am trying to make some modification to the PrintStyles.dgnlib. Unfortunately, the file is write protected, so I appear to be unable to edit these print styles. I need to update these styles with our companies pen table file. Any insight on how to properly do this?
