As a Principal Software Engineer at Bentley Systems, I have 20 years of experience working with and developing hydraulic modeling software.Over the years with Bentley (and Haestad Methods prior) I have been heavily involved with the computational aspects of WaterCAD and WaterGEMS including having been the lead developer for the core hydraulic engine for many years and also the developer and architect of the generic object oriented genetic algorithm optimization engine currently used by Bentley's cloud based scenario services and other tools like Darwin Scheduler. I have been involved in obtaining a number of US software patents related to this software development work over the years.I am also involved in the general development of our H&H applications including building frameworks to support the new look and feel of our desktop applications, reporting, SCADA and near real-time integration, and other more experimental features such as integration with real-time analytics and simulation servers. In the past, I have been involved in sales and training efforts in addition to working with users directly to assist them and garner direct feedback for our development efforts.
I'm driven by the fact that I get to help our users succeed, and in turn improve the quality of life of many others.
