Observations:

When modifying point field codes ORD locks up. ORD Will not complete the process regardless of how long I let it run.

This doesn't happen when modifying field codes on linear features.

I can change Zone, Link code and DTM attribute with no issue.

There is a direct correlation between the existing (bad / incorrect) field code and new (correct / revision) field code.

If the new field code DOES NOT exist in the feature library there is NO issue.

If the new field code is EXISTING in the feature library there is an issue.

The issue is present in BOTH the FDOT workspace and the Bentley Imperial workspace.

This affects point imports. I've noticed long process times and many crashes.

This affects manual point creation from within the survey data base. Expect crashes and long processing times.

This affects graphic import of cells to the survey field book. Expect crashes and long processing times.

My ability to create survey deliverables is at a stand still. You can imagine how critical this is to our survey group.

Included a screen capture showing that I'm editing the feature through the Information dialog and not the survey details.

Any ideas?

I changed the configuration variable "CIVIL_SURVEY_RETAIN_SURVEY_ON_COPY=1." and that is working great by allowing me to merge fieldbook data into a master file, but I'm losing the integrity of the data.

Right now we want more than one CAD Technician working on the same project/file and the only way to make the final file compliant is to have all of the data contained in one fieldbook.

By changing the configuration variable (above), we are able to merge files from different areas of the same project into a master file; however, when you merge a file it always loses the point generated features because the linear features are being converted to graphics (also, the points are also not showing a "data file name" in the element information.)

Having some sort of solution or work around for this issue would be huge for production.

Let me Help You

Answer a question that is verified as helpful or correct.

Now We Have Orphaned powergeopak.exe's???

We're all familiar with orphaned geopak.exe's int task manager.

I recently discovered Bentley Map Mobile and for field use there is no equal save for the lack of an Aerial Image. Without an aerial image, it is more useful to simply use Google Earth. Is there anyway to get gigabyte size aerial images exported so the resultant imodel is not huge? Is there anyway aerial images can be downloaded on the fly similar to Google Earth? I have tried to convert a simple aerial photograph that is 5MB in size and the imodel is over 100MB before I stopped its creation.

Any help is greatly appreciated. If this isn't a capability now, will it be in the future? Without the use of an aerial image the software is not very useful.

1. Publish I-models to Bentley Map mobile (IOS)

2. Survey crew makes redlines on said I-models.

What next? I thought the I-model could be brought back into Microstation as reference file. This doesn't appear to be possible. What can you do with an I-model?

I have a fair amount for time invested in this endeavor to find out the I-model is a dead end. Based on the help files found in SS4 this is or was possible (see capture below):

If I understand this correctly the help files for this topic are NOT accurate. The I-model is a dead end in its self. The life cycle is closed once the file is published via Microstation?

Any ideas?
