A 1981 Graduate of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York with a AAS in Civil Engineering Technology. After graduation I took two years off from the Engineering field to pursue a career on the Professional Pro Bowlers Tour. After personal injuries and financial reasons I decided to fall back on my education and took some night courses to freshen up on my Engineering skills. I took an NYSDOT exam and started at the New York State Department of Transportation in 1983 as a Drafter producing Bridge Rehab's and Replacement plans with ink and mylar. In 1985, the Intergraph Corporation was contracted by NYSDOT to install and maintain a CADD system. The first computers were VAX based with single screen black and white monitors. Eventually Intergraph started producing dual screen color monitor computers with built-in digitizers. In 1988 I entertained an offer from an consultant in Albany NY, Clough-Harbour and Associates as the Head Draftsman in the Transportation Department. I accepted and brought my knowledge and NYSDOT standards to the company.
I was the InRoads Transportation Division Manager for the Transportation Division at CHA in Albany, New York supporting over 15 offices in the United States with InRoads and Microstation. My primary focus is producing DTM's for Highway Projects, Roadway Modeling, Training, Problem Solving and development of Highway Plans, profiles, cross-sections and earthwork. I also have a vast background in survey and have used InSurvey to produce mapping and DTM's. I have worked on well over 200 highway/bridge projects including design-build. I have knowledge of many DOT’s Microstation standards and InRoads standards throughout the United States.
I have attended several Bentley Civil Conferences and was a presenter in 2007 in Scottsdale, Arizona. I presented a 45 minute lecture on 3d intersection design.
I am now employed in East Hartford, Ct. CDM Smith since 2/8/2016.
