Start Menu has Repeating Shortcuts with Same Name

[Using Windows 10, with multiple products loaded: CONNECT Designer, Power InRoads (SS2 & SS4), Power Geopak (SS2 & SS4)... ]

The Windows 10 Start Menu has a Bentley folder with many repeating shortcuts of the same name. One can't know which of my 5 "Set Seed File" shortcuts goes with which product.

Somebody might want to rethink this for future products. Just sayin' !

Bentley Configuration Explorer / Switches

I'm using Bentley Configuration Explorer 08.11.09.26

Q1: Which .cfg file is being appended, and when does my specified .cfg file load? Or does my file replace the PowerGeopak.cfg? Please explain the use of -wc switch, is it path only or complete path and filename?

Q2: When I want to set an additional variable, what would be the syntax? Add another switch -wsDEPT-STRUCT or append 1st switch -ws_NSI_AGENCY=TXDOT;DEPT=STRUCT ?

Geographic Coordinate System Library

Using Power InRoads SS4 08.11.09.904

Regarding the Bentley supplied library of Geographic Coordinate Systems, I was wondering if one system can be verified as correct.

The system at issue is:
NAD 1983 StatePlane Texas North Central FIPS 4202 Feet
EPSG: 102738

The Maximum Longitude is reported as 96°30'00.0000"W
This does not extend far enough east to cover that band Texas.
Is this value correct? How can it be verified, with ESRI somehow?

Making a MACRO "finish" Cleanly

I have created the following macro but I cannot get it to "finish" properly, I always have to R Click the mouse prior to selecting the print icon in the printing dialogue box. I have tried multiple ways to make it "finish" cleaner but haven't found the right combination. For example, following the instructions from the Help files for Action Strings, I have tried the E, T & K Key Ins and also multiple spaces, slashes (/) and semi-colons (;) all to no avail.

Using V8i

Batch Processing to i-model V8i (SS4)

If somebody is successfully Publishing to I-model using V8i (SS4) in batch mode, I'd like to hear about it the process.

I just finished some Record Drawings for archival purpose into PDF format and I'd like to Publish the DGNs into a locked .i.dgn format as well.

Too bad Print Organizer doesn' have a check-box and a settings file selector to do it all at once!

AccuDraw Rotate 3D element about arbitrary axis

I have a SmartLine and want to use AccuDraw to rotate it about an axis defined by two 3D points, how would this be done?

In this case the SmartLine has vertices A, B, C at coordinates (x,y,z):

A    0.00 , 0.00 , 0.00
B    8.17 , 24.79 , 4.82
C   17.83 , 34.17 , 4.64

I want to rotate the SmartLine about the axis defined by the first two points, A & B. Point C would spin around in a circle, aiming for a target. The rotation axis is not orthogonal to anything particular.

How is this done in a 3D environment?

I would be watching the tentative rotation in other views to see the effects, trying to come close to a target.

Named Expression checks for Reference Slot Use

THE BOTTOM LINE
I need a Named Expression that will test whether Reference Slot Number "x" is occupied with an attachment in the active model, and if so, is it currently being displayed. If there is an attachment and it is displayed, it needs to evaluate as True by the named expression.

Alternatively, just see if Slot "x" has an attachment, whether displayed or not.

I have a custom toolbar that functions a little like the View Groups toolbar where the eight numbers toggle on and off views 1-8. But my toolbar displays not 1-8, but 0-20, and clicking a number (tool) would display only that ref file attachment. That is, say when I click "4", the tool would execute a command string "update file 4;selview 1" to temporarily display only reference attachment number 4 in View 1, if it exists. Just move or pan or zoom, and you are back to viewing normally.

In the interest of screen space, what I would like to do is limit the display of numbers on the custom toolbar to only the ref attach slots that really contain an attached file AND have their display turned on.

I think the technique is to add a Show/Hide test on the tool definition. I think the test will also require some Named Expression to be defined as well. I haven't figured how to write the Named Expression it will require. I think this is simple, but I don't have the skills to do it myself.

Where are some resources that can show me how to learn to make Named Expressions?

CONSIDERATIONS
Assumptions - these events would/may trigger an immediate change in the toolbar:
1. Moving from one model to another.
2. Adding or deleting ref attachments.
3. Toggling a ref Display On/Off.

Are these assumptions erroneous or good? I really don't want the toolbar expanding and contracting in size to mess up my docked arrangements.

.pltcfg mappings of color, style & weight not honored

HI, I've made printing changes. I'm getting off our legacy design scripts and going with more WYSIWYG printing (due to design script priority issues).

My old printing routines used Print and the Print Organizer successfully in conjunction with a .dgnlib of styles. Whether to PDF or to media, all was fine.

Not so now with the new changes. We're just doing PDFs at the moment; new .pltcfg(s) now handle the color, weight & style mapping that was previously handled by design script. The text substitutions are handled by a MicroStation pen table. I assume that combo is OK since .pltcfg allows assignment of dscripts and pen tables.

PROBLEM: I can get all to work well with Print, but not batching with the Print Organizer. In the PO text subs are made as expected, but the color, weight & style mappings are not being used from the designated .pltcfg file. It is as though another .pltcfg is being substituted. Again, PDFs only at this time. Any thoughts?

I've tried assigning the pen table in the .pltcfg and in the styles (but not both at the same time).

InRoads products are running sometimes.
