Station/Offest using Civil AccuDraw

I'm using Geopak 08.11.09.872 and I'm trying to place a line using Civil AccuDraw (Station-Offset). I want to place it on my alignment at Station 162+50, Offest 0 but when I activate the draw command the alignment's stationing is not recognized. See below. The alignment has stationing and it is recognized when I run my corridor. I don't have this problem with my other alignments. Any ideas of what could be going on?

Unable to open Tools Dialog box - unknown keyin

Recently I tried using Power InRoads and with it, Descartes to use the Scale-able Terrain Model tools.

I noticed the following messages in the message center: when the toolbox dialog bog failed to open.

MDL Loader: Unable to load library (DLL or MDL shared library) Bentley.MicroStation.Templates.Support.dll

Dll Loader: unable to find Bentley.MicroStation.Templates.Support.dll.dll

MCM unloaded.

Does anyone know what cause these messages and what I can do to fix this?

[ORD 2019 R2] Survey Points - Rotate to Linear Segments

We are just setting up our ORD Workspace. One setting that I cannot locate in ORD is the ability to rotate a point to the angle of a connecting segment. In particular, we have a GUY code for Guy Wire anchors that in InRoads Survey would rotate to align with the point specified with a JPT code that was a utility pole.

Can this be accomplished easily or does this require the VBA Macros to function?

Wanting report of Text Favorites with their dependent Text Styles

I want to generate a .dgnlib report listing Text Favorites and their dependent Text Styles. Doesn't seem possible, any suggestions?

[If I change the name of a Text Style, will the Text Favorite be dynamically updated to the new name, or is it static?]

How to recover Tool Settings dialog box

Start Menu has Repeating Shortcuts with Same Name

[Using Windows 10, with multiple products loaded: CONNECT Designer, Power InRoads (SS2 & SS4), Power Geopak (SS2 & SS4)... ]

The Windows 10 Start Menu has a Bentley folder with many repeating shortcuts of the same name. One can't know which of my 5 "Set Seed File" shortcuts goes with which product.

Somebody might want to rethink this for future products. Just sayin' !

Bentley Configuration Explorer / Switches

I'm using Bentley Configuration Explorer 08.11.09.26

Q1: Which .cfg file is being appended, and when does my specified .cfg file load? Or does my file replace the PowerGeopak.cfg? Please explain the use of -wc switch, is it path only or complete path and filename?

Q2: When I want to set an additional variable, what would be the syntax? Add another switch -wsDEPT-STRUCT or append 1st switch -ws_NSI_AGENCY=TXDOT;DEPT=STRUCT ?

Geographic Coordinate System Library

Using Power InRoads SS4 08.11.09.904

Regarding the Bentley supplied library of Geographic Coordinate Systems, I was wondering if one system can be verified as correct.

The system at issue is:
NAD 1983 StatePlane Texas North Central FIPS 4202 Feet
EPSG: 102738

The Maximum Longitude is reported as 96°30'00.0000"W
This does not extend far enough east to cover that band Texas.
Is this value correct? How can it be verified, with ESRI somehow?

SS4.904 Power InRoads Cross Sections Cell Control

Please refer to the cross sections in the attached PDF.

The individual section grid lines did not used to overlap like they are now unitl I tried getting the Existng ROW cell to show up. Starting at 0+75 on the alley, the ROW lines appear at 7.5' left and right. They appear at the wrong scale, and I think the grid size is the reason for the overlap into the next sections (0+80...). The sections do not need to be so tall!

I'm having a hard time getting the cell the way I want, and the grids to not overlap. I viewed a video yesterday that said, don't worry, they come out fine in the sections. What am I missing? I attempted adjusting the template to use another scale, then another cell. I tried changing the template then the feature definition (not from the library) to use other cell, and also the feature definition to use a Native Style.
Stuck with a mess, and a short fuse on the project!

Critical Sections in SS4 not generated

Power InRoads SS4 (08.11.09.904)

In the Create Cross Sections dialog, Controls, Critical Sections part... I check off Horizontal and Vertical Cardinal Points because I want sections drawn at those stations. They don't get created.

Is this known NOT to work? Trying to determine why I don't get sections automatically drawn at those stations. Any inputs?

Civil Cell Reference lines

Using Power InRoads V8i (SS4) 08.11.09.904

Two issues here:

I'm attempting to place a civil cell I'm developing for a Tee intersection (testing right now) and use the typical two reference lines: Side road centerline and intersecting road edge of pavement.

1. I had the impression I could click to use a breakline feature from the terrain for the intersecting EOP, but I find I cannot, although It does hold elevation info, so why can I not use it?

The terrain was created from .dtm file. It happens the EOP line is also along the external boundary. I had to fiddle a little with the terrain template to isolate the EOP (breaklines) to their own level in order to turn off the external, but I got that part, but it did not work. Nor could I use the back of curb for the same purpose.

I created a HZ feature and profiled it per breakline data, but it means duplicating data. Using this new feature the civil cell placed just fine. Why is the breakline not usable? The terrain resides in a reference file.

2. Also, my template section uses a null point PGL at the top of curb elevation and has a roof-top crown peaking just beneath, at top of pavement. See graphic attached. Not sure how to build that cell properly, as the PGL controls from above the surface crown and is not on the pavement surface. Suggestions would be appreciated. What breakline(s) need to get added to pavement surface, and will point control be lost if I need to flatten out the cross-slopes?

PIR Text Editor forgets size & location

I recently installed Power InRoads V8i (SS4) 08.11.09.904 and began using.

The text editor preference I use is the Word Processor style.

Upon calling for the editor the 2nd, 3rd, and subsequent times in a session, the Word Processor appears in it's original size and location, although I have re-sized and moved it from it's original position every use. My issue is that I must reposition the dialog and open it up much larger (it's pretty small) every time. The previous PIR version and MicroStation typically do not behave that way, they behave in the MRU fashion.

What can I do to change this? Are old workspace preferences / .xml files in use and maybe non-compatible? I don't want to whack my prefs unless I really need to do it.

Making a MACRO "finish" Cleanly

I have created the following macro but I cannot get it to "finish" properly, I always have to R Click the mouse prior to selecting the print icon in the printing dialogue box. I have tried multiple ways to make it "finish" cleaner but haven't found the right combination. For example, following the instructions from the Help files for Action Strings, I have tried the E, T & K Key Ins and also multiple spaces, slashes (/) and semi-colons (;) all to no avail.

Using V8i

Batch Processing to i-model V8i (SS4)

If somebody is successfully Publishing to I-model using V8i (SS4) in batch mode, I'd like to hear about it the process.

I just finished some Record Drawings for archival purpose into PDF format and I'd like to Publish the DGNs into a locked .i.dgn format as well.

Too bad Print Organizer doesn' have a check-box and a settings file selector to do it all at once!
