I opened the cell library up and added item type information to each cell. If I open my original signing file and run cell replacer to update the cells, the graphics updates but the item type information does not show up. I also tried just placing a new cell and the item type data does not place with a new cell. Frankly this is a major weakness. We are going to want to be able to place the data with the cells. There should be a checkbox that lets you include the item type information when you place the cell and cell replacer should let you strip, or override/update these items.

I'm trying to find the "Export to Native" under "General Geometry" in OpenRoads (2020 R3 10.09.00.91) but I can't seem to find it? Is this an option in OpenRoads? Otherwise, what is the best way to complete this, using landxml export?

This particular end condition targets a specific feature definition both horizontally and vertically. The issue is that if I have a targeted feature on only one side of the road, both end conditions see this feature and they both connect to it ( so I have errant features crossing my road). I would prefer to have the end condition look "directionally" much like a horizontal feature constraint which "looks" out based on the range applied. Am I missing a setting or is this not possible. Obviously, I can make a left and right specific feature definition but that seems less elegant.

But since ORD takes about 100 times longer to open files, it is a real problem and is contrary to being a good Windows citizen.

ORD will launch itself to the foreground and steal focus from every other program. Here's an example: I need to open a DGN file in ORD, or even just switch between DGN files. As we all know, this can tale in excess of 2 minutes and often more than 5 minutes. (Sheesh) So, I've already got coffee, at least I can use the time to answer an email or fill out my time sheet. Then, two minutes later, ORD steals focus and my email typing is now focused into ORD. (Loud scream) But at least my file is finally open, right? Well, no. ORD is still spinnning and doing something else for another minute or two. So back to my email. Just to have ORD steal focus again.

We are currently using the command line key in with the following format: Backup Filename_Date_Time.dgn. Example: dsgnrd01.dgn would be backed up as Backup dsgnrd01_20151105_1139.dgn. At the end of the day, we delete all but the newest one. My thinking is to incorporate it into the menu of the mouse so that the user can right click and select Backup and have the rest fill in for them. In addition a MDL that ran at startup that backed up every 30 minutes or hour.

This should not be an issue. I should be able to draw a piece of horizontal geometry and define a profile from surface and have to choose the top of the model by default and with out any fuss. Yet this is not how it is working even in this latest release.

What sort of voodoo does a person need to do to get this to work in a logical/expected fashion? I am open to suggestions. The irony is that I could drape a regular Microstation element on the surface without any trouble but the civil tools can't seem to sort it out.
