  • PowerPoint: Tips and Tricks for Optimizing Corridor Processing Speeds

    Jacquelyn Pettus
    Jacquelyn Pettus
Due to the enhanced functionality of Bentley OpenRoads, when working with large and/or complex data, users may experience performance issues when processing corridor data. To address this, OpenRoads has several built-in tools and settings which will optimize…

Could it be a Windows setting for numbers? Some software does not like it if the OS is set to use a comma as a decimal point.

hmm it works fine for me. One thing I have found is that if you change the Alignment Stationing, the Key Station dialog still reports the old relative values until you nudge the geometry by moving it and the corridor reprocesses. This looks to be an ORD…

I should have put an example. It simply reads the key station from each line of a text file. The issue may be that we use metric 0.000 formatted stations here. What format of stations is giving you this issue?

Mark This is what you need to do. The EOP needs to be projected on to the centreline profile 1. Edit the Annotation group to add an alias - this will pick up the projected EOP profile. In the image below, I have called it 'EOP' - I could have two…

I never found a solution. I just ended up making a habit of going to the Task Manager to end the process.

Not for now. I often need to prepare milling plans. and still in ORD I need to export delta terrain to dtm and use Inroads SS2 tool for CAD graphic and reporting (milling depth range - area).

Hi Mark That is how i did this time. The problem is that some of the soft soil is outside the road corridor, and I only want the volume inside the corridor. I fixed it by creating a boundary around the soft soil, do a clipped terrain, and then calculate…

You'll need to know what design stage your corridor is using, so look for that in that corridor's element information. Within the Project Explorer (you probably have it open, but in case, File > Project Explorer), go to the Civil Standards tab. Look…

If you set the display to have no vertical exaggeration, you should see that the angle distance is working as expected. The exaggeration causes it to look wrong. I went through this same thing a few months ago.

If you know the XY of the known point, draw a small line from there in any direction. Set each of the other alignments active, and when using the Tracking tool, snap to the known point - and you will get the chainage of the active alignment. (I have drawn…

Hi Andrei, You consider creating terrain models from the isolated foundations, then merge that into another terrain model for volume calculations. I've attached a video below that exhibits the workflow (only using a pond, instead of foundation). https…

The triangles look to be correct in that they are going to the drape void where it is inside the terrain - as it is a void, there is nothing that can be done outside the terrain. The boundary is showing the extent of the terrain, and there should be a…
