I have searched the c:drive locations specified in the config and cannot find any new materials or dgnlibs that come with the software.

this.GetElement().GetDisplayString("Level") This will not work on cells

this.GetElement().CellName I can get the cellname with this. But not the active level.

My item type reports on element levels will be blank whenever attached to a cell element.

Therefore, how do you return the expression for the Level Name of a cell? Specifically the active level a cell is placed on?

A cell (cell header) has no level, but it can be placed on active levels. For example if you hover cursor over any cell element it will return the active level.

I am trying to create Expression Syntax Definitions to calculate Length, Width, Height (XYZ) when attaching item types to existing cells/elements.

So far ,XYZ values have been difficult to automatically define in item types.

https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/b/microstation_blog/posts/ec-expressions-in-item-types---new-in-microstation-connect-edition-update-12

The above link gives some handy information and a list of pdf syntax. However I cannot see anything suitable to generate XYZ data.

For example RAW dgn data shows the below for a cell:

Here is an example expression for volume

this.GetElement().GetDisplayValue("Volume")

Is it possible to do something similar with XZY values? Or use the RAW data (Range Low) minus (Range High)?

The itwin gives the option of adding a new layer via "Type" and "map source URL". It would be great to add this into our iTwin for the general 3D environment context.

"Types" such as

Web Map Tile Service

Web Map Service

ArcGIS

Example of some web based services that give the 3d context I am looking for:

https://labs.os.uk/public/os-data-hub-examples/os-vector-tile-api/vts-example-3d-buildings

At the moment all I have is Bing Maps as viewable in my iTwin.

My question is how do I get the drops to exactly match my specified interval? I would expect 10 sections of 4.7m (47m corridor)

As you can see below I have buffers at the start/end of my corridor template drop, changing the interval or minimum transitions does not seem to work.

I want the corridor drops to match the cyan handle length factors.

Many Thanks

1) Import geometry from .alg (do not create civil rules)

2) The centreline geometry is imported (also gets opened in power rail with associated vertical/cant)

3) As a test, I am using the software default platform edge corridor templates (vector offsets from plane of rail/cant)

When using the template and imported geometry, the resulting 3D linear objects are not created with the correct X&Y platform dimensions as constrained in the template. In some cases it can be +/-100mm. The imported geometry has an active vertical profile and cant. The linear template drop cant seem to process the geometry.

Is there any way to create accurate 3d geometry (offset X&Y co-planar to rails) whilst taking into consideration changing design cant/super elevation?

Thanks
