I need to export an annotated profile from OpenRoads Designer to AutoCAD. The export was successful for linework and the grid text, however the annotation text and curve data text is not displaying correctly (shown as 0's in screenshot below). Is anyone aware of a solution to this issue?

When creating X-sections through ORD, any points created from a template within the x-section area are annotated according to the rules in the annotation group. However, I have found that if I have any non-template (but still featurized) strings\surfaces within the X-section area they can not be automatically annotated.

Is this working as designed? Are we expected to annotate all non-template points manually? This is not ideal through areas that reqiure a lot of manual string modelling such as intersections.

Thanks

In Inroads / PowerCivil it was / is very easy to annotate Cogo or Coordination points. Now I try to do the same in Open Roads Designer update 2. Unfortunately without any reasonable result.

A practice example is that a client mails me a coordinate list (xls or txt file) with XYZ coordinates, a name and description. In Inroads I can import the list, see a nice overview with information in a table (I miss this), choose or edit a Style (in the Edit Style) in the View Horizontal Annotation and label the points.

In OpenRoads Designer I tried the Element Annotation in the Drawing Production Ribbon. I suspect a menu where I can choose and edit different Annotation Features or Styles, where I can switch between showing only the for example Name and the XY-Coordinates, the Name and Description.

Is this possible in ORD and if the answer is yes, where can I find some tutorials / examples. I searched this community without any result.

thanks in advance,

When I place them as cell in OpenRoads Designer, the visual does not appear at all or is only shown partly/in some views.

I have tried to change the .dxf file to another file type, but this does not work correctly, so I am currently working with .dwg or .dxf

When I import them like a file, they appear very far (on their own coordinates from the original dxf file, which is made by someone else and I don't want to change them all in the original files), and the file is made from different layers. Is there any way to "group" those layers so I can move the file as one object?

The other method I prefer is to place the object as an active cell. I can place .dwg and .dxf files. I also tried .obj, .fbx, .dgn, .pdf, but .dxf and .dwg still work the best.

BUT

1. I do not see the signs correctly. The point of getting these signs in my OpenRoads model is to display them in a movie and in 3D views to show how road users see those signs.

2. The signs are not in the right location and in the right position, so I need to rotate them. This can be done by changing the degrees in the properties, but I hope there is a better/easier way.

Who can help me?

Some pictures that explain (hopefully) a bit better what I mean

1. Imported as dxf, parts of text disappear when moving

2. Placed cells from dxf and dwg

3. The information is there, I see it also in another display style

4. Zoomed in on the object you can see the text (display style Smooth, the display style I want to use)

5. Rotating the cell is not intuitive and very time consuming

6. Zoomed in, there appear gaps in the sign and the visual problems become clear

Point control mode "Both" secondary alignment

Hi,
