[ORD] Profile Intersection / Crossing Point Annotation

Hi all,

I am trying to annotate the intersecting/crossing alignment names of my ORD Profile drawings and can successfully do this using a Text Favourite Label.

Is there any way to implement this Text Favourite as in an Annotation Group to label all my intersecting/crossing points automatically when applying Profile Drawing Annotation? Or even as a cell for Element Templates?

Flat ITL

Hello,

I'm using PowerRail Track SS4 and it seems that my ITL file has been corrupted and, somehow, all the templates of the ITL has their constrains with value 0.

Do anyone knows what is reason of this?

Error writing file problem

Greetings from Croatia :D

I have a problem with saving geometry file after a certain action I did.

Let's start from beginning:

I have a geometry file which contains a several horizontal/vertical alignment a turnout and COGO points. When I delete multiple COGO points with a "Delete COGO point" tool I can't save geometry file becuase an error messaga pops up "Error writing to file" and whne exiting PRT says that it is failed to open some file in program directory on C drive. I have checked, file is there, and I didn't changed it or moved it. And this is not happening when I make some other change in geometry file.

More details in attached pdf file.

Did someone had similar problem or knows how to solve this?

It would be a great help if someone could try to do this with my geometry file to see if there is a problem with .alg or something else is on the way.

OpenRail -digital terrain model

Hello everyove,
I am a student from Slovakia and i must create a rail in this program...problem is that, my terrain is only a jpg map with countours so how can i turn it into a dtm ? I was looking for some tutorials but i dont how any dots anything only this jpg map.

Constraint point needs to be set in the middle

Hello all,

I am trying to set up the middle point between 2 centrelines.

These centrelines are connect to control points of the template.

I am wondering if anyone have been solving this issue previously as I am trying to make it for a bit while.

Example:

if the centrelines are from each other 4m, the middle point is 2m away each of them; if 6m so 3m away from them etc. My maximum is a bit over 8m.

I am not sure about equation as I didn't use it yet. If you can suggest possible solution, this will be greatly appreciate.

Is anyone else getting this error trying to download OpenRail Overhead Line Designer 2021 R1 (10.10)?

[ORD] When will we be able to install different versions to run in parallel?

Currently, it is possible to install and run only one version of OpenRoads (or any CONNECT product AFAIK).
But different versions of ORD have somewhat different schema. Older versions cannot run design created with newer versions, and there is no way to save a newer version back to an older version.

This is going to be a BIG problem as more and more DOTs come online with their ORD conversion. I can see myself coming to a point where Indiana would only run on one version, Ohio will only accept a different version, and Colorado may run on another version entirely. Never mind partnering with other firms, and getting data in whatever version they run.

It is not realistic to believe that every major client in the world will be running the exact same version of OpenRoads at the same time.

I don't even know how firms are supposed to manage this.
Are we supposed to keep a library of laptops lying around idle, for working on projects with THAT version, and others sitting around for the projects with THIS version?
I've seen some mention of "virtual machines" but that sounds like a lot of IT overhead, which would be crippling to smaller firms. It may not even be practical for larger firms to do on a company-wide basis.

Lack of backwards compatibility paired with the inability to run different versions in parallel is going to hamstring production with multiple clients and multiple partners.
What is Bentley doing to address this problem?

ProjectWise Explorer doesnot opens with custom folders

Our users use custom folders. When ProjectWise Explorer opens, the application starts to open the last folder the current user opened before PW was last closed. This is the real folder and not the link in custom folders. Does anybody know how to realize this?

OpenRail Designer v 10.00.50.30 - Vertical change in Plan - annotation

I look through annotation, text favorites and possible fields to add but cannot find all i need to annotate vertical alignment on plan. I cannot find fields in text favorites to annotate slopes and lenghts of slopes between vertical IP's like i was doing in BRT SS2. Please look at screenshots from desing done in SS2. Anybody knows it can be done or not?

OpenRail Designer 2019 Release 2?

Is there a tentative date set for 2019 Release 2 or has it already happened?

I noticed some readmes and data are out for Release 2 under Product Documentation, but I understand those can be a work in progress.

As more of the critical defects are being fixed, is it reasonable to expect that product updates are going to be released biannually as opposed to quarterly like last year?

Coordinates being truncated when imported

Why is Inroads truncating my coordinates to two places when imported via a text file? The text file has them out to 5 places past the decimal. The preferences are set to display to 5 places. Is there somewhere else I need to set display or import preferences?
