&lt;p&gt;When you place a load over a given area and then add an additional load that overlaps it, does STAAD consider the loads additive or choose one or the other?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&amp;#39;m thinking specifically if you define a live floor load, of say 40 psf, over an entire floor at an elevation, and then have a group defined for laundry within the confines of a smaller area (at the same elevation) with a live load of 150 psf.&lt;br /&gt;Will STAAD choose one over the other based on the way they are defined in the command file or is the load 190 psf?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks,&lt;/p&gt;
