I am trying to export cross sections generated in OpenRoads. I am currently having no luck creating a file that can be "easily" imported into Soilvision.

Methods I have tried so far.

Attempt 1

Exporting the model straight for the Cross Section file. I used the export function in Open Roads and selected DXF as the export method. This proceeded to create a giant file (1GB) which was not usable when importing into SOILVISION.

Attempt 2

I created a blank file.

I then referenced in the cross section model from my Cross Section File.

I then tried to Merge into Master the reference, so all of my linework would be "dumb" lines and then I could save the dgn as a dxf.

Openroads would not permit me to merge the reference file into the new .dgn. I played with several of the settings trying to get it to work but each time after selecting Merge to Master, the reference would still show up in the reference Manager.

Attempt 3

If push comes to shove I can manually trace the cross section with a smartline connecting to the vertex but this is somewhat time consuming and then save as a dxf.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards,

Kyle Dohlen
