Importing an image log into gINT

I have an unwrapped televiewer and 3D core image logs from WellCAD that I would like to import into a gINT log at the proper scale so the depths match. How do I do this? I've tried using bitmap symbols but they add black lines to the top and bottom of the image throwing off the depth and they are also discreet images that plot on a single page rather than log data that scales to depth.

Doe not appear to work! Consistently get a "gINT has stopped working" dialog. Reinstalled 10.00.00.69 and no problem. This does mean I cannot look at AGS files with Excel

AGS Import

I have imported an AGS 3.1 data file into gINT using the 3.1 to 4 correspondence file. Everything works fine including contaminant data with the sole exception of pH results.

Is there any explanation for this?

Decimal places on Fence axis

Fences, drapes and drawings

Is there a means of copying a geological boundary line added to a fence drawing (.gdw) to a fence drape. Copy - paste does not work well as the line is based on the drawing coordinates rather than the fence parameters. I realise I could re-scale the pasted element but this is not particularly accurate.

ERES Import Stalling

I have setup a brand new project using the 'gINT Std AGS 4_0' Data Template, using the 'gINT Std AGS 4_0' library. This is using Connect Edition as gINT Professional v10.00.00.50.

When I import a standard AGS 4.0 file that has been issued to us via a client (stringently checked both structurally and content-wise by them when received from their contractor) it is stalling during the import of the ERES table and gINT gets to the point of 'Not Responding'

All files are on my local machine. All files to be imported are on the local machine. This has been tried on multiple AGS 4.0 files provided by the client which resulted in the same outcome - the only difference being the percentage at which the process stopped (93% on one file and 63% on the other). To get an idea of numbers one of the files had around 7,700 results in the ERES table (only 4,600) were imported.

Are there any known issues / fixes?

How to retain Solid Fill color in DXF output?

I am trying to output a fence diagram that has the strata as colored solid fills to a DXF file, so that we can use the fence posts in a DWG drawing. The dxf is output with all the solid fills as one color on layer 0, and if I retain layering, each post is on its own layer with each a different color (all strata in each post is the same color).

Is there a way to set the output such that the original solid fill colors are retained in the output?

Alignment Initial Station

I have a tunnel alignment (L to R) along which I am producing a Fence Report. In order to pick up a borehole to the left of the start of the alignment, I have added an extra 20m to the alignment following the same direction as the first segment. This obviously means my fence line now begins at a point 20m before the actual tunnel. So to correct for this I have put -20 into the initial station field for the alignment (previously 0m).

This is where the 'fun' starts. When the alignment stations are refreshed it reports that the distance to the second station is at chainage +4.9 (I would expect it to report zero or very close)

If the Initial Station is set to -19.9 the adjustment is correct at 0.1.

Out of interest I have plotted the error in distance to the second station (what should be chainage 0m) against initial station values between 19.85 and 20.

Something is not quite right!

Why do very large green circles appear at borehole locations in the site layouts when developing and reporting fences, obliterating everything? This is project related as other projects are fine.

Particle Size Distribution chart - Multiple curves colored according to soil units

Dear all,

I'm trying to plot multiple PSD curves on a single Graph in order to compare them. I'd like the curves to be coloured according to the soil units assigned to the depth interval at which the PSD was executed. I managed to have data marker colored 'by unit' using the following expression in the field 'Data Marker Color Expression 1' from Tab 'Override Line/DM expression':

<<Lookup(<<UNITS.Color>>,<<GRAIN SIZE ANALYSIS.Unit>>)>>

I don't seem to be able to do the same for the lines connecting the data markers... any suggestions? My graph look likes the image attached below..

Re-coding entries

I have two AGS data sets that I am importing into a single project. All is fine except that the Geology codes for each unit are different. How one set of codes be converted to their equivalent in the other data set? I feel this should be possible using correspondence files but from what I have seen so far this just relates to mapping one field to an other.

Other thoughts I have had are to do a 'text replacement' in an excel version of one of the AGS files or whether some sort of alias field can be added to the Field Geologic Code table and a rule implemented to replace the relevant codes.

Any suggestions welcomed

Consolidating data and reporting

I am in the process of creating a shaft summary log. This will developed from a 'Design Borehole' that will contain the stratigraphic and lithological assessment. To this I want to add collections of data (SPT, lab test results etc) from surrounding boreholes as consolidated plots and graphs on the summary log. I can link to an individual borehole using the Foreign Point ID but not several.

The obvious mechanism would be to make use of zone filters in the plot definitions but I cannot see how to do this (if at all possible)

My thoughts on an alternative workaround would be to report the data / results using a zone filter to a new table but I am struggling here too without exporting to excel and re-importing.

Any advice would be welcomed
