Results given in verification manual of staad foundation is not matching

I was trying to get the results of reference example of pile cap design problem as per IS code (example 4.13 IS pile foundation 2, 5 pile cap ,from page 243-251, to get the matching values as shown in the comparison table (on page 251 of the attached document). but the results showed over there are not matching with what I'm getting.

attaching both the verification manual as well as my staad foundation model of the pile cap. please have a look and let me know where it is going wrong.

Automatic Units changing in staad foundation V8i

Before the start of any project, I set the units required by me. The units keep changing in the output design calculation sheet after the design has been performed without me changing it. why does it happen?

the software manual for staad foundation advanced has verification examples as per Indian codes. wherein section 6.3 a 4 group pile cap was designed using reference and staad foundation advanced. the results are matching too from both methods (manual design and staad foundation). but to design the pile cap, pile capacities are needed to input in staad foundation advanced. what were the values input for capacities in vertical and lateral directions to get matching results? nowere its mentioned in the verification example what capacities were input in staad foundation advanced.

Using connection design in staad pro connect edition

I have a steel truss sitting over a concrete column. it has been analyzed and designed. in connection design, i want to design a base plate where the truss is sitting over the concrete column. i have a steel circular pipe section sitting over a concrete column. in order to design this connection, which members do i need to select and then go for basic or smart connection to create a joint & also what type of Connection type i have to select. i'm trying by select the pipe section and concrete column then selecting base plate design (as per IS code) but joints are not created.

Strap footing design in staad foundation Advanced as per Indian Code

design of strap footing as per Indian code is not supported in staad foundation advanced connect edition? When i go to design codes in job setup it shows presently available only to US.

Im using Staad Foundation advance connect edition V9.4.0.20 (Academic license).

please help!

time period in Staad pro

Whether the time period needs to be calculated from formulas giving in code and input into the software or let the software calculate it and report?

& secondly, I'm using Indian code, when I don't input the time period into the seismic definition and let the software to calculate it, the time period reported by staad pro software is the same in both X and Z direction whereas my building is having a different plan direction in X & Z.

for different plan dimensions, the time period should be different in the X and Z direction.

Please let me know about it.

Checking beam displacement in staad pro

After analysis, when ie check displacement in a beam by going to Reports>section displacement. it shows max displacement along with global displacement in the Y direction. Which one I need to be considering, max displacement of 25.054 mm or global y displacement of 158.212 for beam 321 for L/C 24 to cross-check whether this displacement is within the limit or not as per IS456 limit of Span/350?

STAAD Foundation error

Hi,

I'm trying to run the attached STAAD Foundation file and I'm getting a message "NO SERVICE STRESS LOAD CASE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CURRENT JOB. CANNOT DESIGN". I'm using version V8.2.0.31. Can you please advise how to fix the issue.

Isolated footing design in staad foundation advanced

while designing simple isolated footing, what does the type of depth- fixed at the top & fixed at bottom signifies in cover and soil properties? and also when I change from fixed top to fixed bottom, the results didn't change in both cases. can someone please help me understand this?
