Ok i tried - so here are some points. First - renders, than some thoughts.

Hi Paul, I have lowered the occlusion range setting in the raytrace tab, but this setting has no effect. Here's a render with VUE in MS CE 16.1 and the same with Luxology (with token)

That's why i use Lumion and Twinmotion in the meantime... and look into Unreal / Unity. And Luxology for photomatch. Will see the future.
