We're moving from InRoads SS10.

I understand the purpose of setting a survey point to "control", so that subsequent observations will not inadvertently change the coordinates. However, in the course of any kind of survey adjustments, the coordinates of the control points will often need to be slightly changed, or sometimes removed from "control" status. For the life of me, I simply cannot figure out how to do this. It seems that once a point is moved to "control" status, it's stuck there permanently. I've tried:

1) Moving the control point with my cursor...but the point snaps back to the old position.

2) Manually changing the coordinates with the flyout menu...but the point snaps back to the old position.

3) Manually changing the coordinates with the Details tool...but the point snaps back to the old position.

4) Looking for a way to remove the "control" status from the point...can't find it.

5) Deleting the control point from the list of control points (in the DETAILS window). This little stunt will delete a boatload of other connected topo points in the process.

6) Toggling the DEACTIVATE SURVEY PROCESSING RULES on, then changing the coordinates (which actually works), but upon ACTIVATE SURVEY PROCESSING RULES again, the coordinates snap back again to the old position.

Upon some deep digging, I did find where places where you could find the control flag. It appears in the SQLITE file when exported, under PointType, with a value of "2"....

And in the XML file, listed as a value of "control" under the pntSurv tag....

If I had the ability to easily remove the "control" flag from within ORD, I think my problem would be solved.

Has anybody found a way to do this?

Ask A Question I

Ask a question in a forum.

InRoads Ss2 - Report Browser Error - Failed to Load File

I have a user on XP who has used the report browser in the past, but today, it generates and error dialog box stating Failed to load file ... and if you browse to his TMP folder, the file is there but the InRoadReport.txt and the corresponding tmp files are also there, but are zero bytes.

I even had him open the rawxml.xsl report and save the XML file to his desktop and then try opening it in the report browser. Same basic error message.

We all use the same project defaults that are driven by CFG files so our reports are on the network and I seem to have not problems.

Does anyone know why this type of error occurs and how to correct it.

Even a reboot of the PC did not help.
