What's New in OpenRoads Designer 2021 Release 1

We are pleased to announce that OpenRoads Designer 2021 R 1 is now available.

Below are just a few of the enhancements you’ll encounter in this release.

General Enhancements

Update of Power Platform (V10.16.00.80).
Added support for Side-by-Side installations.
Changed product branding to reflect release name (e.g. 2021 Release 1).
Optimized printing/plotting to increase performance by 5x.
Updated right-click options in Sheet Index and Project Explorer to include all available options.
Integrated the Downgrade Civil Model tool with ProjectWise.

Drawing Production and Annotation Enhancements

Enhanced the Text Favorite Manager to be the single source for the creating, editing and managing text favorites, including Survey, Drainage & Utilities.
Enabled the annotation of Survey and D&U crossing features in cross sections.
Enhanced both the Element Annotation and Drawing Model Annotation tools with an option to use “Override Annotation Group”.
Added a new Civil Labeler tool.
Added the ability to create cross section sheets from existing cross section drawing models.
Added a new Cross Section Navigator tool.
Enhanced drawing production options to allow for the separate naming of Views, Drawing Models and Sheet Models.
Added a new reference option (Synchronize View > Settings from Design Model) allowing the levels and view options displayed in sheet models to be controlled from a container file.

Drainage and Utilities Enhancements

Profile runs can now show the conduits that connect to a node, that are not part of the profile run.
Annotation of multiple conduits in cross section drawings can be automated using an Annotation Filter, which now lets you select conduit feature definitions.
The Extract Utilities from Graphics command now lets you select a feature definition for nodes, as well as conduits.
You can now import and export a Utilities submodel, as well as a Drainage submodel using a .sqlite file.

Item Types Enhancements

Added the ability to define pick lists in an excel file.
Added the ability to define multiple Item Types per Feature Definition.
Added the ability to define default values for each Item Type property per Feature Definition.
Added synchronization of Item Types between 2D, 3D, and profile models. The synchronized Item Type can be viewed and modified from any of the three views/models.

Linear Measurement

Regarding Quantity Takeoff, Element Component Quanties shows only Suface are and Volume only.

Do we have any option to take Linear Measurement,Eg:- Curb Length should be Linear Meter.

Is there any option or style set to get Linear Measurement.

Side slope annotation menu not available in the Open Roads, is this new updates.

Superelevation flag for Dual Carriageway

Hai,

I have created Dual cway template and apply SE Flag.

Rotation of template shows from Inner Shoulder to outter shoulder direct.

my requirment is shown in the image and following below.

CL to Med L&R fix or varies option, Option:- Varies width and Fix Slope.

eg :- L&R Width varies and Slope Fix 0.0%, No super Elevation apply.? what to do.

1, CL to Med L Width varies and Fix Slope.

2, Med L to CW L apply super, and width varies with Create Point Control possible

3, CW L to SH Out L apply super, and width varies with Create Point Control possible

4, Med L to SH IN L apply Reverse Super of cway should apply, What to do

Note:-

Med L =Median Left

CW L=Carriageway Left

SH Out=Shoulder Outter Side

SH IN=Shoulder Inner side

Superelevation apply to corridor

My issue is apply different superelevation pattern to different corridor in one alignment.

my superelevation requirement is like this .which is shown in image.

1, I found one thing in superelevation section that, it is creating in certain width.

2, If you create Left and Right side ,modification not applying in the carriageway.

3, in sharp small Radius superelevation section not ceating,example If you try to create superelevation section in Round about Circulatory ,not display the se section.

1,What is the use of Seed2D-IHL.dgn and Seed3D-IHL.dgn. As a Road designer do we need start alignment and profile in 2d and Existing surface & corridor in 3d.

2, How we can trim the Corridor surface inner circle.
