  • RE: Computer Processing Power for OpenRoads

    Mark Shamoun
    Mark Shamoun
Hi Neil, I suggest you do a trial/pilot of ORD and see if it caters for how you deliver projects. Most of the enthusiastic team members we have who use OpenRoads are those who came from a Civil3D background - legacy users of products like MX, Inroads…

I've started with a new company and I've started modeling more in OpenRoads with SS4 and Geopak. OpenRoads is new to me, but I do have experience with InRoads modeling. I've been watching another engineer working on his station recently and noticed how…

Thank you all, Yes, very interesting. In the past I have also copied the master.itl as a starting point for each project, and I have experienced the communication breakdown you identified as the problem with this approach. I want to thank Iwan for…

Well I don't want to clutter the organizational workspace with many project specific files, nor do I want to maintain a copy of the standard ITL in each project's workspace - that's a nightmare to maintain if anything changes in there.

I wanted to see how people are managing ORD plan production, specifically with regards to plan views cut on curves. We have working through some thoughts on how to clean up this process, and have had difficulty finding a workflow that I would be comfortable…

Thank you Chris for the good information. I tried the Note to Description method and it worked well for Notes but It did not work for Attributes. If you happen to think of another idea that would allow us to append attributes to the description that would…

Mark, I'd suggest you file an enhancement request on these items. It will require a request for each item individually.

agreed - and this is the dilemma. Currently we remember where you were last and all dialogs work this way. We are going to get both sides of this. Some want it where it is reset each time as mentioned in this thread and others will not want it to work…

Agreed Tim. I know one of the thoughts was the Admin can tell the users this is where to start but if the user browses to any other location then he returns to that location the next time he does that operation in the WorkSpace/WorkSet. The only way I…

I am attempting to create custom configuration variables in order for the workset configuration file to find a directory path defined by the variables (similar to defining MS_DEF to point to a particular directory for finding dgn files). In particular…
