iTwin don't find texture of OBM model when synchronisation

When using iTwin and a model from OBM 10.12.1.83 and doing a connection with that DGN file containing the bridge model I get error messages concerning the texture not being found on PW. The file is on Projectwise and iTwin is working fine with ORD files, including SUDA components. The workspace and worksets are on PW and we have no issues when creating OBM model and referencing it in other DGN ORD files. See message below:

Is it possible to drop, convert or lock annotation texte (favorite or cell) once they are generated from the geometry feature definition

We are working with OpenRoads Designer 10.07.01.32 and producing plan and plan and profile sheet model with named boundary. I defined feature definition for the alignment and the ditches. When the profile is created ditches are annotated at each PI with sta and elevation according to road horizontal alignment Z value.

the thing is now, we want to manually move these annotations. Is there a way to lock/freeze so that it wont update if there is some modification.

Vertical annotations

I'm using ORD 10.10.20.78. I'm preparing a group annotation in my DGNLIB file to annotate vertical alignment when creating Sheet and drawing models. When looking at the available vertical point s there is no option for exemple a crest curve followed by a sag curve with no tangent between. This case appends often....why is it not available. It was possible with PowerInRoads SS2. Is there a way to have specific annotation that would be CCV not just TCV or CTV.

3D cut in ORD

I'm using ORD 10.10.01.03 on PW.

When creating a 3D cut in a dynamic profile, the corridor in the 3D cut appears in element the length of the alignment linear stroking (2.5) instead of a single element.

Even when selecting in the dynamic profile, it is in 2.5m long element.

Is there a variable or a way to present the element that is cut as a single component. Not having those added vertical line inside the elements.

When creating sheets, we now have to draw over the 3D cut so that it looks ok in the final drawing sheet.

ORD license issue

When starting ORD 10.09.00.91 on a machine, we get this message. But looking at the License manager everything is OK.

Custom Cross Sections In OpenRoads Designer

I'm using ORD 10.8.1.33. I want to cut a series of cross sections, perpendicular from main alignment and along culvert crossing the main road. In PowerInRoads I was able to create and save a series of sections based on interval, specific or with an angle. Is this possible with ORD. I looked at creating a series of named boundary in the same Group without generating the actual drawing sheet and then using the Named Boundary dialog window. But it is a long process. If there is another way please tell me. The old custom cross sections from Power InRoads was more user friendly. It would be great to define specific stations before generating the Named Boundaries.

Plan and profile - named boundary - DGNLIB in ORD

I'm using ORD 2019 Release 2 update 7 in a bid project. We been using this version to model the highway project that we're working on. During design we produced a lot of sketch using a DGNLIB and the named boundary for plan and profile. Suddenly when we use the same DGNLIB, we cant get the DGN file reference in the sketch to show in the plan view. Only DWG file are shown. Any idea!

Openroads Tips - Deleting corrupted mesh from corridor

Took me some time to find this: how do you delete corrupted old mesh from corridor? Before we could use the "civil display browser" but now we can't

In the example below I have 3 curb mesh that I can't delete because they are still "associated" with my corridor, but of course do not follow it anymore…

1: use the delete Mesh Facet command

2: select the mesh and use the line to cut through it to delete part of it

3 - now use the "convert mesh to surface" tool

And you are done! The software just deleted the corrupted mesh.

Also if you have corrupted lines:

1- turn them into mesh, then delete them

Clearly it's dangerous to have mesh with feature definition laying around in "double"

ORD Element from template in corridor become embedded even when you modify the template

We are using ORD version 10.07.01.32 for a project. Since we updated, we had issues with element from a template that stay in the corridor after the template has been modify. When we try to drop or erase it, we get the message that this element is embedded in another element. This is a big issue. We had to delete complete corridor in order to get rid of the element.

Any idea how to manage this problems?

End Condition Target Vertical alignment

End conditions in SS2 could target a vertical alignment. Design of ditches on a highway start with generic creation based on the template. You then project you feature on the profile to create the base vertical alignment of each ditches. At that point you should be able to modify your end condition so that the target is not the existing ground but the vertical profile of the ditches.

In ORD it seems i can't target an alignment feature. The only feature definition i can target are linear.

And the Linear Vertical target basically have no options.

This doesn't make sense!

In order to design ditches on a project you need to have this in your workflow.

Once you've adjusted the profile of the ditch then you can add an horizontal control.

Any idea!

Culvert in Subsurface Utilities?

I'm working on a highway project. It"s a 38km long highway with many existing and new culvert. First step would be to modeld the existing one to include in the corridor. It's my first time working within the Subsurface Utilities menu.

So far all i've seen is that you need to layout a node before being able to place a pipe. In my case, the existing culverts don't have headwalls, grate, CB or MH. So how can i place a culvert without having to place a node before?

How to modify a vertical complex geometry

Hi all,

I'm working on ORD 2019 update 1.

We have created a lot of horizontal and vertical complex alignment for a project.

Many corridor have been created based on these alignments.

Now the design criteria have changed and we need to modify those complex vertical.

We tried to drop the complex vertical( with drawing command), but then the rules get messed up.

We want basically to remove tangent and curves and add new ones in the complex without creating a new complex. Just want to modify the one we've already created.

So far we haven't find a simple way to do that. (it was so simple in SS2). Even with the table editor we can't delete existing tangent in the profile (or modify the lenght for that matter).

Don't want to start from scratch, we have to many manhours in this project already!

Any suggestion.

Mass Haul Diagram

We are using OpenRoads Designer 10.7.0.56 2019 Update 1. Have a corridor with basic template. The existing Terrain model have been created with a DEM file in TIFF format. So far everything is good. We can see the cull and fill volume in the dynamic cross section window and have all the quantities when using the Corridor report component quantities.

We are trying to get the Mass Haul Diagram from that corridor. We are using the interval method. Even if ORD takes time to calculate, the report have 0 volumes and the diagram shows no profile.

The Civil Analysis is pretty simple........

The feature definition for the existing terrain, corridor and meshes are set properly. Existing and Design.

The feature definition for the diagram if the one from ORD metric workspace.

Why does the diagram won't show....

TERRAIN MODEL NOT VISIBLE WHEN PRINTING CROSS SECTION IN ORD

Hi all,

we just started a new project with OpenRoads Designer. I've setup the DGNLIB that needs to be configure the Named Boundary process for creating Plan, Profle and Cross section drawing. That is going well. I have my border, drawing model and sheet model created in my DGN file at the right scale and the annotations are fine. The only problem is when i try to print a PDF file, in sheet model, the existing ground (reference - named boundary - terrain model) is not visible in the PDF. But it is in the drawing model, sheet model. I can snap to it in the drawing model.

Any idea?
