[CE] Microstation stealing focus

When opening DGN file from Windows Explorer Microstation constantly steals focus while opening even that loading is not finished, it goes foreground like 3-5 times before loading is finished.

How to prevent that?

What is the purpose of DgnTool.PopulateToolSettings()? Where and how does it find the list of dialog items with which to populate MicroStation's tool settings dialog? What does its Boolean return value signify?

[CONNECT] Trigger Ribbon update using a keyin?

Hi all,

I have a few custom ribbon buttons i've added but need them to "see" changes in the results of Named Expressions to do things like change buttons from displaying "Enabled" to "Disabled", etc. eg. I click a button to load AutoTurn and the button changes to "Unload Autoturn" or i want to toggle a setting and want it to tell me the state of that setting. I can get all this info in Named Expressions, but can't get a "Sync Item Event" to be triggered on demand outside of the Model, Selection Set, View or Primitive tool changed options that are there in the Customize Ribbon Dialog.

For toolbars i can do this easily by adding the command "TASK RELOAD" to the button command, but the only equivalent i can find for ribbons is "RIBBON REBUILD".

The problem with this is that a ribbon rebuild naturally takes 2 seconds to complete, but i was looking for something lighter that just triggers a reload of ribbon visibility/enable expressions.

Any ideas?

[CE U14 Other] Request good custom Ribbon example of a DgnLib built from a XML

Hi,

Although I know this item is discussed more than once and most answers mostly points to the 'Ribbon Chapter' in the 'Microstation API', I still find it very confusing to get a clear picture. And even more so a working example. So can anyone shed some light into the building process of a customized Ribbon from XML to a DgnLib or RSC-file?

I have a made XML (exported from the File->Settings->Configuration->Customize) and according to several forum questions and the Ribbon Chapter this looks like a good starting point.

However the XML starts with <ECRibbonItems> and this XML-element is not accepted in RibbonDefinitions.xsd. Furthermore the resource compiler does not accept a XML and in the SDK I cannot find any remotely usable example which could point me in the right direction. And I really don't want the XML delivered outside development.

Is there a usable example which I can build upon?

I am working on a C# application to be run inside OpenRoads Designer that creates a variety of 3D items (cells, cylinders, blocks, etc.) and would like to programatically create 3D constraints between these items and items that already exist in the 3D model. The MicroStation SDK includes a good example for how to do this with 2D models using native C++. Is there a managed API over Contstraint3d so that I can more readily code this using C#? Also is it possible to query for existing constraints using an ECQuery?

Connect - Accusnap issues

Accusnap seems to be going crazy.. Sometimes it will snap where it should, other times it just puts it at the cursor.

Possible that it has to do with the DPI settings. Happens with all snap modes

I created some tools and customized task/menu accordingly. I'd like to know does dgnlib support bilingual? I created two menus right now, chinese and english version. Both menu will show. If MS can hide one menu according to the windows/MS version, it would be prefect. I don't want to create two dgnlib. Thanks a lot.

How to get the selected Workflow from Ribbon from code

I am using MicroStation Connect, Update 9, version 10.09.01.01.

I have been looking if it is possible to get the selected Workflow (from ribbon).

The user selects a workflow from ribbon, and, in code (C#), I would like to get the selected workflow.

The name of the workflow would be enough.

So far I did not succeeded in finding a solution.

I do not see a variable in which the selected workflowname from ribbon.

In the Object Browser (Visual Studio) there are some classes who might doing some with the Active Workflow ( ribbonview.dll, ribbonviewapp, public string ActiveWorkflow { get; }),

but do not get it working.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how?

From code, there are some classes
