Inconsistent response to tentative snap

I have long felt that tentative snaps were behaving inconsistently. I can't speak with much authority on the history of this, but I've only begun to notice this since my first sessions of using Microstation SS3 in January 2015. (I sense that this tentative snap behavior is a contributor to some the .NET framework errors I've encountered, like http://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/5922/t/105575.) (That alleged connection is probably invalid as I haven't seen that error in a while, but I'm still seeing this behavior on SS4 .878 as of 10/13/2017.)

Today, I have made repeatable observations. Using Geopak SS4, .845.

In my button mappings, I have my middle mouse button set to Tentative. AccuSnap is deactivated, so that in order to snap to anything, I have to do the middle button.

Given more than at least one potential point in a file to snap to, there are two behaviors observed:

Doing a tentative snap on the first point, then doing a tentative snap on a second point, the tentative snap moves to the second point.
Doing a tentative snap on the first point, then doing a tentative snap on a second point, the tentative snap remains at the first point. You'll have to do a reset (right-click, in my settings) in order to snap to any other point.

The tentative snap behavior observed depends on the active tool, which is surprising and inconvenient.

Geopak Drainage Node Label Location

Where do I set the location of the label for the drainage node? I want the label to be closer to the node that it is labeling. Is there a preference setting, is it in the cell library or maybe in the drainage library. Is there a help document that describes the basics of the drainage components?

Tenative gets stuck

I am using Power Geopak to create cross sections for export to HEC-RAS and noticed that the snap does not work properly when I start using the cross section tools, such as labeler or DP offset elevation. Repeated tenative clicks do not cycle through the different elements and I have to reset and bring to front the element that I need to snap to. Is this a known issue or could I have a corrupt dgn?

Now i notice that this happens any time i am using a tool that includes an element, such as move or copy; place line, place cell, etc.. The tenative snaps to the first location it finds and wont cycle. I always have to hit a reset for it to release and if the element i am snappning to is not in front i have to move it to front in order to snap to it. This is not the case when an element is not yet involved in the operation, such as selecting an element to be copied or moved or deleted.

Is there an easy way to rename a profile in Power Geopak?

Is there and easy way to rename a profile in Civil Tools? I opened a profile window for each of my alignments and created the diferent profiles, but forgot to change the name of the prfile when they were created.

I am using the Civil Tools, OpenRoads, in PowerGeopak for the first time. When I got to review the profile all the + signs for stationing are replaced with ??. Is this a known issue?

Power Geopak SS3 Crash to Desktop

I don't know where to begin with this. I'm getting some crashes to desktop running Power Geopak SS3, .722. I don't know where to begin to troubleshoot the problem. I'm using it on the same system that I was running Microstation + Geopak SS2 with--surprisingly--no crashes to desktop. (I had plenty other errors, though.)

The CTD always seems to come suddenly, abruptly, and with no obvious trigger. What's a good first few steps (other than get the msdebug file)?

View Attributes Being Overridden On Open File

Hi,

Whenever I open a file in PowerGeopak with custom workspace (NCDOT) the "Level Overrides" attribure is turned off. I always have to turn this attribute back on if I need to SAVE SETTINGS. After I have save the settings, others can open the file with the overrides saved; or if I open the file and do not save settings others can then open the file and the overrides are still on. Can anyone tell me if there is a command that controls the View Attributes when openning a file?

What causes the errro message "Element [xxxx] has been DELETED" when opening a file?

sometimes when opening a file i get the referenced error and it cycles through every element that has ever been deleted from the file. this takes a long time and i usually just stop the program and start over.

Sewer Resets Held Elevations

I am trying to define an existing sewer line in my project. I have tried repeatedly to set the invert elevations for the sewer pipe segments by holding the elevation. As soon as I go to the next step the elevation is reset to the minimum slope set in the prferences. Instead of using the slope prefference as a minimum it is using it as an absolute for every segment I create. Is there something causing this that I am not aware of?
