I am using InRoads SS4 version 08.11.09.878 and came across a potential bug. The project is utilizing native styles to handle the display of features. I am cutting sections through multiple corridors, and the crossing features (crosses, points, etc) are showing up as expected in the dynamic view. However, when I cut static cross sections, some of the features are missing especially those of the adjacent corridor. If I cut the sections along the native alignment of the adjacent corridor the missing features are present. Is this working as intended? Is this a function of the relative skew of the adjacent corridor? Is there a workaround? I need these features to be present for annotation purposes. Thanks in advance for the insight.

SS4 - OpenRoads and SUDA: Conduit with Ellipse shape not displaying in cross sections

I have a entrance pipe that I have modeled with SUDA and it is an ellipse shape in the feature definition. For some reason when I cut a cross section it doesn't show up but it does in the temporary cross section view. If I change that pipe feature to a circular shape with a different feature definition it shows up when I cut cross sections. Has anyone else had trouble with ellipse shape showing up in the cross section? I have other pipes along this stretch that are circular or a box and show up fine in the cross section so it being an ellipse was the only thing different that I could figure out might be the reason (wondering if this is just a bug).

Split flow issue with GVF-Rational solver

Ref: https://communities.bentley.com/products/hydraulics___hydrology/f/haestad-hydraulics-and-hydrology-forum/183397/error-when-analyzing-by-sewergems/

Hi Scott,

Following up on your response, we've just had an issue with a model of ours which uses the GFV-Rational solver but also includes a diversion link in order to model a weir split flow in our system. It's been awhile since we looked at this model and we believe the diversion link used to work, but it is now saying that the control in the conduit (diversion) is being ignored. Can you confirm if there is any way to model a split flow using the GVF-Rational solver? I found various Bentley forum articles about using diversion links with the GVF-Rational solver, but it now seems like that is not possible. The Properties description window within Sewergems for the diversion link Rating Table also states that it only works with the Implicit solver which contradicts all the old forum articles..

We've tried using the latest version of SewerGEMS, but generally we are using the microstation integrated CONNECT Edition Update 1, 10.01.01.04.

error when analyzing by SewerGEMS

Hi, I am analyzing a rainwater drainage network.
I am having issues displaying one manhole onto an "existing profile" that is created based on a roadway centerline alignment. The manhole is offset from the alignment so I am projecting the manhole onto the alignment profile.

I've set both the Network "From:" and "To:" option to the manhole ID I want to display, but the manhole displays as 1 horizontal line, set at the RIM elevation. The one lateral that connects into the manhole is also correctly displayed below. See below.

I've noticed that the "Maximum Depth" property is for some reason affecting the display of the manhole. Even though the lateral pipe should force the bottom of the manhole elevation down, if I don't select the pipe in the "Create Profile" menu (remember I am only selecting the manhole), the profile displays the manhole as if there is no pipe connected to the manhole, hence the one horizonal RIM elevation line (it's actually all 4 structure lines (top bottom right left lines), all set to the same elevation. The Maximum Depth of the manhole is set to 0.00, but if I increase this value, the profile then displays the bottom of the manhole based on the value. See below. I can therefore manually set the Maximum Depth to make sure the bottom is displayed correctly, based on my outgoing pipe elevation and 0.3m "depth below invert" property, but I would like to know why this error is happening and why the manhole does not display by itself, based on it's true bottom elevation which is set based on the outgoing pipe elevation and the depth below invert property. I don't understand why the "Maximum Depth" property should affect how profiles are displayed... seems like it's only there to give you an error if the profile is "taller" than the value in that box..

Additionally, when trying to display another manhole and lateral (manhole has said lateral connecting to it plus 1 other lateral pipe), the manhole is displayed with essentially 3 connecting pipes showing since it's showing both ends of the pipe which is in the in/out page direction. See below. If I only selected the manhole and the horz pipe (per right screenshot below), I don't get why both ends of the other pipe would show up on the profile. Only the pipe that connects into the manhole should be shown...

I'm wondering what could cause such a drastic change in results.

A few notes. The model has two ponds modeled and one outfall. One inlet that is upstream of the pond has a -800.76% continuity error for it's surface node (in sag inlet - "Node 828f_Surface). Obviously this is causing the most problems but I'm not sure how to fix it since the inlet is not overflowing or surcharged. The rest of the nodes listed in the "Highest Continuity Errors" section within Sewergems are in the 9-36% range.

I am using Sewergems CONNECT Edition Update 1 (10.01.01.04) within Microstation V8i SS4 and EPA SWMM 5.1.012.
A quick follow up. I'm not sure if this issue was caused by the patch, but when I close out a model using Sewergems for Microstation, it does not ask me to "check- n" the .dgn file, although it does ask for the model file to be checked back in.

I can manually go into ProjectWise and check in the .dgn, although it gives me the warning shown in the screenshot below. I click "continue" since the file isn't actually open anymore and it get's checked back in. Not sure how to fix this issue, but obviously Sewergems for Microstation should ask to check in both the .dgn and the model files when you close out.

I am currently importing drainage design files (.sdb) from Sewergems into InRoads to profile them using InRoads. I need the ability to open a Roadway Geometry project and then label inlets/manholes that are on my Drainage profile, with their respective station and offset from the currently active Roadway alignment.

When using the drafting profile notes, it seems the only alignment and station information that can be added is for the drainage alignment that is made when you create the drainage profile. This is NOT the station and offset information I want. The offset from this information is always zero since it's pulling it directly from the drainage alignment which is always along the drainage system that I'm currently profiling.

The roadway alignment may be 50 ft away from my drainage system, but I need to label each structure on the profile with the currently active geometry alignment. The information is there, so I'm not sure why it can't be added to the Profile note.
