Define Horizontal by best fit tool

I am trying to store alignments using survey data and the Define Horizontal by Best Fit tool. I watched the wiki video that details this process and understand the concepts. The issue that I am having is when I want to make a single element, it always creates a radius instead of a straight line. Same for when I use the make complex element option. Instead of creating a tangent-radius-tangent, the Horizontal Geometry Report shows threes radi have been created. Any thoughts on what settings I need to adjust?

Dynamic Sections

I am running OpenRoads Version 10.10.01.03

When I active Dynamic Sections in my corridor file, I am able to display the sections in a view and navigate through them without issue. When I attempt to use the place temporary horizontal or vertical dimension, my view flashes and the tools will not activate. I get an error in the message center saying "No Template Drop Defined". I have tried different views and the "geometry dynamicsection deletedxsviews" keyin with no change. Any idea why these tools are not activating?

Edit .rsc file

I am running Openroads Designer Connect Edition 2019- Release 1. I need to edit a .rsc file, then import the line styles into a .dgnlib to be used in a Connect workspace. I open the .rsc file and am able to create the new base stroke pattern that I need. When I go to try and assign that base stroke pattern to my point , I get the dialog below. The dialog will not allow me to browse the stroking options that I have created. Thoughts on why this is? Thanks

Openroads Designer Connect Edition 2019-release 2 exiting error

When I try to close a file after installing the release 2 version the file errors out and will not respond. The only way the file will close ids if I us the Windows Task Manager and choose End Task. Any ideas why this is happening?

Unable to add logo to LumenRT

Hello-

I am unable to attach my company logo to a LumenRT scene that I have created.

As far as I can see I am following all of the steps outlined in order for it to appear, yet even when I adjust the scale up and down,nothing shows up on my screen. Any ideas on why this is? Is my file too large? Graphic card unable to do this?

LumenRt export settings

I am creating a couple of short videos (45-60 seconds)that I want to then post to You Tube to share with clients. Wondering what setting I should select in the movie options to produce the clearest video. So far I have used, Fast Quality, MPEG-4 part 2, 30fps with 1080 resolution. Thoughts?

Opening .Obj file

I have two .obj files that I want to open with micro station and save off to .dgn files. One is large and one is small. The smaller one (0.065 gigabyte) opens without issue and I am able to save the mesh to a dgn. The larger one (0.97 gigabytes) attempts to open for about 60 seconds and then just shows a blank screen. The file is empty when I try to save it to a dgn. Are there micro station setting I should change to open a large .obj? Are there size limits for .obj file that micro station can handle? Any ideas why it won't open?

Element Template - Survey processing SS4

In an effort to move our survey processing forward into SS4 without the need to maintain legacy data (.smd), we have created an element template of all of our survey codes. We then created a feature definition for each of our survey codes and mapped it to the element template instead of linking it to a native style. All of this information is housed in one .dgnlib. When we process our survey all of the shots come in, but none of the spot cells are brought in and the symbology for the line work is all set to default.

What would be causing this? I can use the feature definitions to place individual point cells correctly and draw individual lines correctly using the horizontal geometry, but when it comes to survey processing, no features are found. What setting should I be reviewing?

Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated

.tin surface vertical offset

I have a .tin surface that was extracted from graphics (point cloud) that I need to move vertically. I have come up with two possible solutions to do this and am wondering if there are others. We run SS2 geopak.

Method #1- Physically move the point cloud vertical distance required, then extract the graphic.

Method#2- Import the surface into Geopak SITE as an object and then export it applying a vertical offset.

Any other ideas would be welcomed. Thank You

Survey Feature Definitions, Element template or .ddb link?

My company is migrating to SS4. We would like to process all of our survey in SS4 from this point going forward. Is there a way to import our .smd file into an element template? We would rather not have to maintain a .ddb and .smd to link our survey feature definition to.
