I am operating OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition 2020 Release 3. I have a DGN file that is just a bunch of lines. These lines have elevations associated with them and are considered to be in an older vertical datum which I would like to update to a more current vertical datum, which happens to be 3.845' higher. I determined that ORD does not specify vertical datum - please tell me if I am incorrect in that.

Ultimately, I need to apply an offset to all of the elements in the drawing, so that the file can be considered to be in the updated vertical datum. I figured there has to be a way to apply a z-value to the whole drawing / set of elements, however, I cannot seem to find a way. Is there a way I can select all of the lines / elements and enter a vertical offset or z value to the highlighted selection and apply it so I can save it and be on my way?

*Top view / Birds eye view

* Right view - I would like to apply a vertical offset and essentially just move everything seen in the screen, up 3.845', to meet my new vertical datum requirement. I want to leave all other XY coordinates and location the same, just move all elements up a certain distance.

Can anyone help on this?

Thank you in advance!

Just wanted to ask if folks out there can define the 3 types of units of measure that are displayed in Design File Settings and GCS. Please define what the Linear Units are, the Advanced Settings Resolution units are, and what the GCS units are. Also, what is their relationship with one another?

Linear Units: Are these what you are reading out when measuring? So when I have XY coordinates displayed, they're supposed to be displaying values in whatever unit of measure is listed for Linear?

Advanced Settings Resolution Units: I understand what resolution is, but where does the unit of measure come into play, and more importantly, what is the relationship between this and the Linear Units unit of measure? I assume these and the linear units should match, although I have heard of circumstances where they differ.

GCS: Establishing your GCS is to the effect that you're saying what projection/coordinate system your data is in

Contour Labeling Issues - Terrain Model - What's The Best Way To Place Contour Labels?

Hey all, I have been trying to get contours to display properly in my terrain model and the labels are not showing up correctly. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about doing this?

I have tried to go the Template route, and selecting "Existing Contours" template within my Terrain dgnlib - that didnt work all that well, as most of the outcome from various Text styles has been this:

And the route of "Label Terrain Contours", I have used standard as the Dimension Style and have gotten better results, applying contours manually, although I havent been able to get rid of the leader/terminator line. It would be nice to have an easy way to do this.

Does anyone know of the best way to go about adding contour labels? How do you label them?
