10th Annual Bentley Plant User Group Conference

The Bentley Plant User Group held their annual conference September 17-19th at the Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. The event was a huge success with a turnout of over 100 attendees. Celebrating their 10th anniversary, the group recognized its founders Don Riendeau, Southern Company, and Clark McDonald, Bentley Systems (at origins time Rebis). Originating as the South East User Group in April of 1998, the now Bentley Plant User Group has grown to include and represent over 30 different companies from several states.

This year's conference kicked off with a day of workshops including AutoPLANT SpecGen (Advanced), AutoPLANT 3D Piping Design, and AutoPLANT P&ID. The day concluded with a reception on the hotel terrace overlooking the water.

Day 2 continued with several presentations:

  • Bentley Corporate Overview by John Riddle, Sr. VP of Global Plant & Building
  • Bentley Plant Keynote by Rob Whitesell VP, Plant & Building
  • Bentley Product Update by Ken Adamson Director Product Management
  • Bentley Navigator
  • User Presentation - Calvin England from Southern Company on scrubbers, specifically Plant Miller FGD.

In the final day attendees were presented by two of Bentley's newest acquisitions Promis.e and ConstructSim as well as another user presentation on the fast track of PDS to Auto PLANT. This day concluded with a Golf Tournament at the Mississippi National Golf Club.

I had a lot of fun at this event and it was great to meet all of the Bentley Plant Group Officers as well as our fellow Bentley employees that helped make this such a successful networking and learning experience!
