AutoPLANT Error! It won't start. 'unable to read the AT.INI file'

Are you getting this error?

Typically, this can happen if someone installed but did not have Administrative privileges. Thus, the files were not copied over or registered properly. The message received is actually just a note in a lsp file that will display if it fails to find the AT.INI. It is not actually looking in the above path.

To fix this, ensure the user has admin rights on the machine and do a repair install. In some cases, however, this can also be caused by invalid registry keys that will have to be removed from the Registry Editor. That will only be a problem if many versions of AutoPLANT have been installed on the machine before.

Solution 2:

1. Go to the desktop menu: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.
2.  Type in regedit and select ok.
3. In the Registry Editor, path out to the following regkey.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{720080E7-D479-4053-94B3-112B9809698B}\InprocServer32\

4, You should only have one entry here for your existing version of AutoPLANT. For example, if you have AutoPLANT V8i SS3 refresh installed (version 08.11.08.151), delete all the others except for the 8.11.8.151 regkey.
5. Try using AutoPLANT again. If the same error occurs, a repair of the AutoPLANT install may be required.

  • What if there is no RegKey you have mentioned?

Autoplant 8.11.8.151  used to be running on the XP Pro machine till last Friday. Then stopped and we have checked according to your advise but... there is no regkey (and of course reapir option or new intall does not help...). Mysterious behaviour... :-)
