Tech Toy #9 - TikiTag Reader and Tags

This is really an RFID desktop HF Reader with sample tags. So what!
Well with little to no programming skill, you can tag an object and define a link to a website, a skype call, an online internet radio station and more. If you have an NFC phone like the Nokia 6131, you can also read the RFID tags with the phone and navigate to a URL.
The device is sold through Amazon for about $50 and includes 10 sample tags. To get an idea of what you can do with this device, go to the tikitag website.
BTW, I expect Alcatel-Lucent, the makers of this hardware/system, have more planned for this device. Watch as different business models develop for this RFID desktop system over the next year.
