ProjectWise has supported Outlook integration for years. Most companies don't properly have it configured to be worthwhile. In ProjectWise V8i, Microsoft Outlook in no longer used to extract email information from .msg files. Microsoft has developed an iFilter that ProjectWise uses to extract email information such as To, CC, Sent, Receive, etc. The file MsgFilt.msi can be downloaded from Microsoft and installed on the indexing server, usually the Integration Server.
Once you have the iFilter in place, the file processors (Full Text Search and File Properties) can index the message files. As a last step, setup a correspondence folder and create a global custom view with the desired email columns and assign that view to the correspondence folder. Then it is just the process of a drag and drop the project related emails into the folder and you're done. Also, please remember the integration inside of Outlook, which opens ProjectWise dialogs for attachments and save commands. Inside of the ProjectWise Explorer you can also rapidly create links to files in an email to let someone know that they need to review or work on a file. JP
Matt,
At this point there are no specific plans for ProjectWise to provide additional Lotus Notes support out of the box.
However, if you can get the Lotus Notes email messages into ProjectWise in some standalone form, sort of like Outlook handles MSG files, then there is some potential that they can be full texted indexed and have their file properties extracted. Depends on what format file can be created out of Lotus Notes.
