Grids on Plates to Mimic Grating in AutoPLANT Structural 2004 and ProSteel

Here is a quick over view of the evolution of Structural 2004 to ProSteel V8i. The only real changes are the names of the menu picks from Structural to ProSteel and the ProSteel dialog has been changed but not in such a way that is unrecognizable.

AutoPLANT Structural

A grid can be placed on an existing plate by using the following steps:

1. Select the plate
2. Right click and go to Structural Properties
3. In the dialog go to the Layout Tab
4. Check the Grid option

The grid lines may not stretch across the whole plate. To extend the line across the entire plate set the Maximum Length to 0.0 in Structural Options. Maximum Length can be found by going to Structural >Structural Options>Straight Plates. The spacing of the grid lines can also be set from this dialog.

ProSteel

A grid can be placed on an existing plate by using the following steps:

1. Select the plate
2. Right click and go to PS3D Properties
3. In the dialog expand General Data then select Layout
4. Check the Grid option

The grid lines may not stretch across the whole plate. To extend the line across the entire plate set the Maximum Length to 0.0 in ProSteel 3D Options. Maximum Length can be found by going to ProSteel 3D >ProSteel Options>Straight Plates. The spacing of the grid lines can also be set from this dialog.
