Welcome to Karim’s Blog

This is a place for STAAD users and enthusiast to
come, learn and share. We’ll be discussing the latest developments with STAAD
Software, answering questions and discussing what’s on your mind.

My name is Karim and I am a registered Professional
Engineer with over 16 years of experience in the structural and civil
engineering industry.  I am an alumni of Howard University
School of Engineering with a BS, Civil Engineering.

During my career I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects ranging
from bridges, highway structures, and building structures using all types of materials
such as steel, concrete, wood, masonry, pre-stressed concrete and composite
steel. Recent projects include the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project
as well as the Springfield Interchange Project in the Washington DC Metro
Area.  I have been on the Bentley team since 2011 and look
forward to sharing information with you to aid you in your engineering
practice.

We’ll be discussing everything from STAAD.Pro,
Foundation Advanced, STAAD X Tower, Open.STAAD and Interoperability with
several other software packages.

Topics
will include techniques for creating 3 dimensional structural models, important
structural design considerations and understanding how to make the most of the
applications for your project needs. In addition, we will discuss new
enhancements and software improvements.

We
will be making announcements about free online seminars, useful websites, and
sources of information. We’ll be answering questions from STAAD users so feel
free to post yours here. I look forward to hearing from you.
