So we were talking about users on popular social networking sites..However what about time spent on individual sites..In the U.S., the gap between Facebook and Google in terms of time spent is much closer. ComScore has November data for the U.S., and it estimates people spent 8 billion minutes on Facebook during that month, versus 8.5 billion minutes for Google. MySpace was about double with 16.4 billion (it also had more visitors than Facebook in the U.S., with 75.5 million vs. 50.5 million).
We all understand Google as a Search Engine and you may argue why we are comparing it Facebook or Myspace..Knock and you will remember Gmail, Youtube, Orkut, Google Docs !! (Google is fast replacing Newspapers and Printed Books too !!! )
So it completes the jigsaw puzzle,we talk about engagement on these sites and there are few giants fighting for the same..Personally speaking I use Facebook more than Orkut but then I have to be equally active on Orkut as my FRIENDS are more comfortable with Orkut than Facebook..
I started the discussion on Peer Importance..Guess it explains all...Voila good working week ahead...
Thanks for sharing this fascinating information about social media usage!
