LEAP Bridge Enterprise V8i (SELECTseries 4) v11.00.01 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes to itself and its component programs:

LEAP Bridge v11.00.01

Enhancements:

  • Introduced a new option for Station format display for metric units (12+000.0000).
  • LEAP Bridge now supports precast/pretensioned Cellular Concrete Box girder bridges

Fixes:

  • Issues with improper transfer of concrete material properties data to CONSPAN and RC-PIER were fixed.

LEAP CONSPAN v11.00.01

Enhancements:

  • A new consolidated report with options for specific span and beam selection, for materials and beam reinforcement (strands, rebar and stirrups) has now been added under Print/Results – input data.
  • CONSPAN now supports read/write to Virtis/Opis v6.3.
  • New 2012 FDOT standard beams were added to the beam section library.
  • Michigan DOT design live loads are now available in the live load library.
  • When multiple Permit Vehicles are selected for analysis, we now list the actual ID of the PV vehicles under load case analysis results instead of PV 1...n.
  • A new option for “Full Screen Viewer” added to the graphical display of Live Loads in the library to improve image clarity for vehicles with many axles.

Fixes:

  • Fixed a problem with CONSPAN crashing when attempting to open files with rectangular beams with voids.
  • For bridges defined on curved alignments in LEAP Bridge, the flared girder option in CONSPAN was not set correctly. This issue has now been fixed.
  • A minor update in the printout for the article number for LRFD side by side DF option.
  • Under LRFR rating, the system factor for flexural effect has been updated to reflect the changes in the MBE (2008).
  • In the LRFD design, importance factor is now correctly considered in Vertical Shear (Mcor) and negative moment, Mu-required under Reinforced design.
  • Fixed an error in the FDOT Permit Rating report option where the tension stresses were being printed instead of the compression stresses under Service I.
  • CONSPAN no longer prints negative envelope stresses table when "Multi-Span/Non-continuous option" is selected on the Project tab.
  • Some minor issues in the 2D views of skewed abutments were fixed.
  • The allowable stresses in the LRFR rating in CONSPAN were being calculated using the Material tab input values rather than the beam level modified material properties. This is now fixed.

LEAP CONBOX v11.00.01

Enhancements:

  • Implementation of CONBOX Rating for Girder-by-Girder analysis type.

Fixes:

  • Section View on the Geometry tab did not show variation of the bridge when BBSta > 0. This issue has been fixed.
  • Design Live Load Type in the Live Load library is now editable at the application level. Permit and Legal Vehicles can now be added to the Design Live Load Type which are then accessible under Locked Library Loads in Loads/Analysis tab.
  • IRC bridges can now be opened under AASHTO.
  • Rating of a Tee bridge is now functional.
  • In some instances shear rating for LFR produced negative rating results due to improper reading of f’c; this issue has now been fixed.
  • LFR Service I and LRFR Service III checks for prestress tension and concrete tension resulted in negative values; this issue is not fixed.
  • Under AASHTO Standard Specifications the reported Nominal shear strength, Vn , under Design was different from the one reported under Rating; this issue has been fixed.
  • Export to RC-PIER command now correctly accounts for the variable width and number of girders in the span.
  • The “Out of Memory” error showing up while working in the rebar model input dialog has now  been fixed.
  • The tendon & rebar libraries are now correctly reloaded after changing their selection in the Library Pathnames Setup dialog.
  • Nominal shear strength, Vn, for reinforced concrete design in LFR incorrectly showed 0.00 value; this issue has now been fixed.

LEAP RC-PIER v11.0.1

Enhancements:

  • Revised internal workflow to calculate, in a consistent manner, the horizontal earth pressure (EH) and live load surcharge (LS) load effects on:
    • Stem wall and footing design
    • Pile cap design and pile reactions
    • Added clarity to GUI of Load data tables:
      • Revised the titles of the tables for different load types
      • Added new grids for EH and LS load generation
      • Enhanced 3D view of the View Loads for EH and LS loads, and added clarity to the sketch of EH load auto-generation for two types of abutments
      • Revised internal algorithm for calculating pile loads and capacity to obtain:
        • Controlling case of lateral load on piles
        • Lateral resistance due to batter from contributory piles
        • Added clarity to footing design report:
          • Provides load effects at the bottom, instead of the top, of the footing in the Pile Reactions.
          • Removed unnecessary items. Only reports coordinate system used to layout piles.
          • Added extra footing design notes.
          • Unified pile lateral resistance check for footing with and/or without batter piles.

Fixes:

  • Issues related to the auto generated EH load in stem wall abutment. The auto-generated EH load was incorrect. Besides, only the portion between top of the cap/stem wall and bottom of cap/stem wall was used in the abutment analysis and design. The corresponding load effects were not correctly generated. These issues have been fixed. The EH load now extends from the top of the back wall to the bottom of footing.
  • Issues related to the auto generated EH load in pile cap abutment. The auto-generated EH load type was bearing loads instead of horizontal abutment loads. The corresponding load effects were not correctly generated. These issues have been fixed.
  • The dead load due to self weight of the backwall was not auto generated correctly for both types of abutments. This issue is now fixed.
  • Reinforcement schedule in x- and z-direction was mislabeled in the footing design report. This has been fixed.
  • Limit of steel reinforcement in drilled shaft design was incorrectly set up. It has been fixed.
  • Incorrect elevation shown in the Brng/Grdr dialog under the Geometry Tab has been removed.
  • Section of the column at middle height was incorrectly shown in 2D plan view. It has been fixed.
  • Fixed the incorrect load factor of the self weight of footing, which was used in the factored pile reaction calculations.
  • Well foundation can now be accessed even after accessing GEOMATH.
  • Fixed the issue about inconsistent transfer of material properties between LEAP Bridge and RC-PIER.
  • The Exposure Coefficient (Ce) which appeared on Wind on Structure GUI for LRFD and LFD was removed.
  • Struts can now be defined to extend from top of footing to bottom of cap.
  • Under IRC, the earth pressure for single soil layer is now correctly generated.
  • Pile reaction table has been reformatted to correctly line up the column headers.
  • Material quantity for the tapered cap is now correctly calculated.

Geometry Module: GEOMATH v11.0.1

Enhancements:

  • None

Fixes:

  • Fixed a printout issue resulting in reporting incorrect number of girders for precast bridges.
  • Fixed an issue related to loading models from LEAP Bridge with girders designed initially in GEOMATH using methods other than the “Girder Cap-Centerline” method.
  • Fixed an issue related to writing correctly the GEOMATH roadway information in LEAP Bridge.
