CONTENTS • Superstructure Module:CONSPAN v 9.0.2 • Superstructure Module:CONBOX v 9.0.2 • Substructure Module:RC-PIER v 9.0.2 • Geometry Module:GEOMATH v 9.0.2 • Upgade Instructions LEAP Bridge v8i (SELECTseries 1) v9.0.2 is a maintenance release which incorporates some fixes to its component programs. Please review the corrections listed under each component program for further details Superstructure Module: CONSPAN v 9.0.2 • This maintenance release of CONSPAN includes fixes for the following issues: • For deck bulb-tees, (deck thickness zero and placed adjacent to one another) without transverse post tensioning, the live load distribution factors were computed incorrectly. For the case of deck bulb-tees with post-tensioning, rather than considering thickness of slab as zero, we now consider the top flange thickness in the live load distribution factors. • Transformed section properties flag for rebar was not being considered in v9.0.0. • Multi-beams (non-voided rect. beams, rect. beams with circular voids, cellular concrete boxes) are always usually placed adjacent to one another, satisfying the criteria to use the code specified Live Load distribution factors. CONSPAN previously did not check if these beams are placed side by side and continued to use the same LLDFs, even for cases where these beams were not adjacent to each other. Now program warns the user and seeks manual input of Distribution Factors. • When using the "Initial Pull/Strand CG" method of defining the Strand Patterns, some cases where the defined cg was not the same as defined in the section template, the strand pattern would be lost upon saving and re-opening of the file. • Diaphgram load wizard created extra loads for non existent beam 0. Only reporting was affected. Another issue with diaphgram loads causing a significant jump in the Moment/Shear values at the bearing location was also fixed. Superstructure Module: CONBOX v 9.0.2. • This maintenance release of CONBOX includes fixes for the following issues: • Fixed an issue where user cannot open files created with Optional Girder Analysis option in the Project Tab • When CONBOX is re-opened from LEAP Bridge SuperStructure tab there were a few cases where problems occurred related to Variant and Diaphragm sections getting renamed, variant section parameters incorrectly displayed, tendon path broken, and incorrect support elevation. All of these issues were resolved. • The user-selected option for the resistance factors in LRFD mode (User-Defined or Auto-Generated) was getting incorrectly reset after auto-design and after generating detailed shear capacity report. Additionally, in Rating when "User-Defined" for resistance factors was un-checked, the program was computing resistance factors per selection made in the Design Parameters dialog box. All of these issues related to the resistance factors were resolved. Substructure Module: RC-PIER v 9.0.2 • This maintenance release of RC-PIER includes fixes for the following issues: • Incorrect Trapezoidal and Pressure loading: In the Load dialog, Trapezoidal and Pressure loading is internally getting swapped. As a result, program is treating Trapezoidal load as Pressure load and vice versa. The issue is also present in RC-PIER v9.0.0 • Defining Start and End locations for rebars in combined footing: For combined pile cap and combined spread footing, the option for defining the start and end locations for rebar is inadvertently disabled. By default, the program assumes rebars to extend the full length of footing. • Drilled shaft design was listing the column section properties as drilled shaft properties .Now, program prints correct section properties. • The program was not flagging the location when phiMn/Mu is < 1. Now, program flags the location correctly when design criteria is not satisfied. • Two LEAP Bridge related issues were also fixed. In metric unit, the LEAP bridge data was not getting updated correctly when pier data is updated from RC-PIER and secondly When user defined drilled shafts in LEAP GEOMATH, RC-PIER was not reading them correctly. Geometry Module: GEOMATH v 9.0.2 • Minor updates to improve overall integration with other component applications from the LEAP Bridge suite of products. • "Updates" button in the Status Bar at the bottom will now alert users of the availability of updates. Upgrading from LEAP Bridge v9.x, v8.x or v7.x • Make a backup copy of your modified default libraries (in the /Lib folder) by copying the files to a different location other than the original folder. • Run the downloaded setup file. • Follow the on-screen instructions and install the program. The program will automatically be installed in the existing LEAP Bridge folder. The existing license key will be transferred automatically to LEAP Bridge v9.0.2 without any further authorization action required by the user. • Restore the back-up copies of the libraries (created in step 1 above) to the LEAP Bridge folder.
