What's New and Changed in LEAP Bridge v8i (SELECTseries 1) v9.0.3?, June 2010

LEAP Bridge v8i (SELECTseries 1) v9.0.3 is a maintenance release which incorporates some fixes to its component programs. Please review the corrections listed under each component program for further details

Superstructure Module: CONSPAN v 9.0.3

• This maintenance release of CONSPAN includes fixes for the following issues:
• On Windows XP some users reported a crash, when attempting to edit any text field. This error was fixed, and is the main reason for this maintenance release.
• Strand Pattern Wizard crash was fixed.
• Some cross-section graphics inadvertently broken in v9.0.2, were fixed.
• On the beam tab, for multi-spans, the beam # is no longer reset to the first beam, when the span selection is changed.

• There are no changes since v9.0.2 other than a re-issue/recompile to match the LEAP Bridge version number.  

Substructure Module: RC-PIER v 9.0.3

• This maintenance release of RC-PIER includes fixes for the following issues:
• For Stepped Cap type piers, the program was crashing when “Print Geometry” report option was selected. This issue is now fixed in v9.0.3.
• For Hammerhead pier files, program was listing incorrect column number in the load dialog. Now, program shows the correct column number.
• In the cap shear design, in some cases, program was not computing the effective shear depth correctly. Now, it correctly computes the shear depth as maximum of 0.9*de,0.72*h and ds-a/2 as per AASHTO LRFD 5.8.2.9.

Geometry Module: GEOMATH v 9.0.3

• For some files, in which very long alignments are defined, program was taking a very long time to load the data file. Numerous changes were made to significantly improve the load time in this release.

Upgrading from LEAP Bridge v9.x, v8.x or v7.x

• Make a backup copy of your modified default libraries (in the /Lib folder) by copying the files to a different location other than the original folder.
• Run the downloaded setup file.
• Follow the on-screen instructions and install the program. The program will automatically be installed in the existing LEAP Bridge folder. The existing license key will be transferred automatically to LEAP Bridge v9.0.3 without any further authorization action required by the user.
• Restore the back-up copies of the libraries (created in step 1 above) to the LEAP Bridge folder
