What’s New in LEAP Bridge Steel CONNECT Edition V17? (June 27, 2017)

LEAP Bridge Steel CONNECT Edition V17 contains enhancements and bug fixes. The following enhancements are available in this release.

Major Enhancements

  • Modeling, analysis and design check for Tub-Girder bridges
  • 3D Finite Element Modeling and Analysis for both I-Girder and Tub-Girder bridges

Additional Enhancements

  • Option to Specify Bracing of Concrete-Encased Top Flange

When this option is selected, the top flange of the beam encased in hardened concrete will be assumed to be braced for non-composite sections (no shear connectors).

  • Detailed Camber Diagrams/Tables

In addition to the camber due to the vertical deflection, following rows are added:

Geometric Camber: It includes camber values due to vertical curve.

Reference Line Elevation: Reference line is a straight line connecting top of web elevations at two adjacent supports.

Top of Pavement Elevation: Top of pavement elevation at each tenth point.

Top of form Elevation: Elevation at each tenth point where the top of form should be placed before deck placement.

Blocking Offset: Offset of the top of web from a straight line connecting top of web elevations at the first and the last support. This value is reported only at supports.
