What’s New in LEAP Bridge Steel v01.02.00?

LEAP Bridge Steel V01.02.00 is a major enhancement release to the LEAP Bridge Steel product. The release contains several enhancements that are described below.

 

A note to current users: On the Analysis dialog please verify the Design Lane Discretization and Truck Step settings. By default they should be set to 9” and 24” respectively as shown below:

 

 

Enhancements in LEAP Bridge Steel V01.02.00:

 

The following enhancements are included in V01.02.00:

 

  • Import geometry from MicroStation for use as alignments and/or beam lines

  • Generate individual cross frame member forces from grillage model and report

  • Perform compression and tension design for cross frame members and report

  • Design shear stud connectors

  • Enhanced reporting for Analysis and Design

  • Save common drawing views

  • Deck Elevations report

  • Material quantities report

  • Grillage model warping stiffness adjustment

  • Camber diagrams

  • Update to AASHTO 7th Edition Bridge Specification

  • Span hinge command

  • Enhanced cross frame member definition options

  • Enhanced 3D solid model

  • Expanded live load lane placement options

     

    Fixes in this release:

     •             Issue when try to update 1 member from member groups dialog

    •             Problem applying wind loads

    •             Crash when try to open one file created with a greater application version

    •             Crash when delete in Appurtenance dialog

    •             Incorrect section properties in STAAD model for live load analysis

    •             Live load deflections in LBS reports are in feet not inches

    •             Problems with STAAD model when multiple simple spans

    •             Fracture critical flag not handled in code checking

    •             Need to add live load distribution factors for negative moment to GUI and reports

    •             Girder length is incorrect when end support is skewed

    •             Deck slab intermediate transverse members in analytical model

    •             Wrong LLDF when skew angle is negative

    •             Issue with analytical model for long alignments with non-zero Begin station

    •             Incorrect 3D model display

    •             Cannot run analysis when Cross-Frame not selected in Cross Frame locations

    •             Cross frame strut and diagonal type not being saved

    •             Problem with flange lateral dead load moment

    •             Graphical Error - End abutment does not show up after being defined.

    •             Custom Section members are not retaining after Analysis

    •             Graphical Error - End abutment not shown.

    •             Cross Frame/ Diaphragm Location CFD One -By -One Wizard - UNDO button not working.

    •             HL-93 Mz values are zero for group 2 defined with Concentric to alignment path

    •             Discrepancy in application of gamma factors near the point of contra-flexure and negative moment region

    •             Max/min moment code check reports (design reports) not working

Quick Install Guide

To install, run the installation .exe file and follow the prompts. All prerequisites will be installed as required. LEAP Bridge Steel will install under “Program Files (x86)\Bentley\LEAP Bridge Steel” by default.
