Hello,
Someone just asked me about getting infomration about two adjacent strings, just for checking purposes. He didn't know about the Measure Crossfall and Gradient Tool, which can produce this exact sort of information. It can be found on the Status Toolbar or, under View>Status>Measure Crossfall and Gradient.
This dynamic option finds and displays the incoming and outgoing gradients, and the crossfalls to the left and right, of a selected string point. These four values are annotated on the plan. The crossfalls displayed are those to the next strings to the left and right of the selected string, in the same model as the selected string.
You can move to points to the left and the right of the initial one you have selected, and also multi-select points. You can zoom to the selected point, and also pick and choose which information to display. See the screen grab below which shows what you can get.
Hope this is of Interest
SImon.
Is there a way to produce this information in a report? I am after crossfall and gradient on various points on a channel string.
JUST BE CAREFUL:
It actually calcluate the most nearby string,
so if you hide some string, Crossfall and Gradient Status may be refer to the hidden string which not you want.
eg , carriage edge line Vs carriage edge line
when you want the crossfall of carriage edge line to lane line, it maybe show carriage edge line carriage edge line (hidden),so the cross fall is 35%?
Very useful tool for quick checking/referencing widths, crossfalls between longitudinal points and adjacent strings!
