He did the presentation during a Design in '09 Federal Infrastructure Spending Builds BIM Opprotunities Seminar hosted by ModernTech AEC Solutions in Atlanta, GA.

Dimension Tips
Dimension extension line attributes may be adjusted within a dimension string.
Note: This tip is also in this Wiki: http://communities.bentley.com/Communities/Other_Communities/AskInga/w/AskInga/change-symbology-of-extension-lines.aspx
Here are the steps:
1. First set the extension line and dimension line attributes to a desired setting, (extension line style 4, dimension line style 0, for example), and place a dimension.
2. Use the key-in: change dimension symbology standard
3. Identify extension lines to display based on the dimension line style, (line style 0), with a data point then accept click sequence.
Note: You may use the key-in: change dimension symbology alternate
then, identify extension lines to change back to the extension line style setting, (line style 4).

Tech Tips - MicroStation V8i or MicroStation V8 XM Edtions
Note: All links below, will open examples found on ModernTech AEC's web site.

Key-in Browser Tip
For some Key-in browser users who remember the days (pre-V8XM) when the Esc key would give focus to the Key-in browser.

Go to the menu pick: Workspace>Preferences.
Choose the category, Position Mapping.
Disable the Use Postion Mapping option.

This will disable the new ability to activate tools by using the keyboard, but will allow users the old functionality of switching focus back to the Key-in browser when the Esc key is typed.

Note: As an alternative to disabling the Position Mapping option, you could assign the following key-in to a function key:

inputmanager cmdbrowse

This key-in will give focus to the Key-in browser as well.
