Great to see your insightful comments again. Facebook and other social tools can consume much of our time, but they also serve as identity markers and potential client connectors. Humans are inherently social creatures, and it's fun to be part of various groups. And you're right; Facebook can turn our past into a present part of our lives. I suggest using Facebook and social media for your commercial purposes, as it is easy to promote anything there, especially with a Twitch influencer marketing agency. You can learn a lot of new and useful things there. However, sometimes there are problems with technology, for example at Microsoft. I recently had a program I needed hanging up, and I found information here: https://howly.com/article/why-is-microsoft-jigsaw-freezing/. This article helped me to figure out the cause of my problem, which I am very happy about. Nowadays, it is important to be able to search for information on the Internet because the abundance of technology, applications and programs has an equal abundance of technical problems.

RE: Time to Be Born Again - Engineering 3.0?

ok that;s some great points but I preferred a combination of both AutoCAD and MicroStation because they are the industry standards.

RE: Name the Next MicroStation!

Revolution #9

Fixing problems, with new functions and modified interfaces, doesn't quite seem fair to the Designers/Engineers who use the product.

Getting a list of Bug Fixes with each release(or sub-release) would be a big bonus also. Otherwise we have to test if the internally known bugs (that our users have found and reported) have been resolved.

A majority of applications out there have sub point releases with "Release Notes" to list the "Enhancements/Fixes".

Another 2¢ to the pot.

Software bugs to be more specific. Bentley has the reputation of giving bug fixes to the "next release" philosophy. Makes it very difficult and costly for users.

Yes features of the next version are nice but sometimes getting 450 people to quit what they are doing and start with a new version is not pratical or cost effective. Getting Bentley to fix bugs in the current release would be a big step and also help solve the question about when to upgrade. Moving to a new version should always be a choice and not forced on the user. Just my 2¢

Your post reminds me that I got on to Facebook some months ago and for the first few weeks was amazed just how much time it sucked out of my life. I had to literally find a happy medium of my own, and now spend only 5 minutes every day, or every other day, on FB. I see buddies of mine doing Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, all multiple times per day, all complete with photos throughout the day - and wonder how they do it. I sometimes wonder why they do it, too. and then I realize they are merely catering to the curiousity of anyone so concerned - myself included.

It's funny, though - curious as we are, in all the inavding of email, cell phones, and PCs into the office, it's interesting that even with all the ways of communicating, we manage to keep work life nice and seperate from all the other aspects of life. I hope part of the happy medium involves us making sure those two *stay* seperate too!

No, all this new tech isn't instrinsically bad. But it was made *for* us, *by* us. We can't necessarily reverse technology's march, but isn't it at least possible we can *do* some of the sorts of things that people used to do before all the technology? Isn't it up to us to find a middle gound? I'm sure there is a happy medium...
