I'm a new member of BE Communities and this may have been discussed in the past - Can anyone provide any insight into a response from Bentley on a proposed server upgrade:-
An existing server using Microsoft Windows 2003 is to be replaced with a model using Microsoft Windows 2008, to which we will link workstations that are still using Microstation versions 08.05.02.35 and 08.05.02.70 due to the customisation that we run in this office.
Bentley are not giving any assurances as to the operability of Microstation on Windows Server 2008 as testing has not been carried out by Bentley. Does anyone use Server 2008 successfully with Microstation V8 of this vintage?
regards
We just migrated from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 a few weeks ago. One of the tings we are currently dealing with is we are no longer able to use our InRoads XSL Style Files stored on the network share where our workspaces are located (on the new server) to view our XML InRoads reports.
We are still able to use the and XSL Style File that we store on the local Hard Drive (WinXP)
You might want to consider posting your inquiry in the most applicable Be Communities forum -- in this particular case, the MicroStation V8 2004 Edition would probably be the best one... see http://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_-_all_pre-v8_versions/f/142.aspx for that.
I assume that you are not intending to run MicroStation on your server. What do you mean by 'link worstations'? What will you be running on your server? SELECTserver maybe?
