I have had problems editing text in Microstation V8.05.02.35 over the past two days.
When editing text (sometimes, not all the time) Microstation will boot me out
of the drawing and end the session. This has been happening several times a day.
It is not drawing specific. Anyone out there have any ideas about a fix?
I just updated with the new version of Axiom Titleblock Manager. Could this be contributing to the problem?
I have also had the same problem and used the same fix as 'Michael' however in dialog box text edit mode you can't add fields (eg area etc) which is a very useful tool!
Thanks for help Michael, chanching to "Dialog Box" solved the problem for me!
I am having the same problem and I found out it has to do with the Text Editor Style set to Word Processor. A temporary fix is to set the Text Editor Style under Preferences>Text to "Dialog Box". This works for me. I could not try the fix Gary Manager suggested for the directory the (*.upf) is located is locked by IT in my company.
We had a similar issue in the past.
The quickest and easiest way to try and fix it it to delete the user's preference file (*.upf) and to see if it helps the problem. As you may know after you delete theis file, a new one is created automatically (user will have to reset all of their menus, screen locations, drawing history and other user preferences.... but I have found that once this file corrupts, MicroStation will start doing all sorts of crazy things.
Hope this helps!
There has been an issue with fonts. Have you tried adding the following variable to force the editor to use font 1?
MS_WORD_PROCESSOR_DISPLAY_RSC_USING_DEFAULT_FONT=1
